I ordered a Non brake light perspex strip off Luke a couple of years back but when I went to fit it I noticed that its the brake light version, result!

How do I go about wiring it in to the uk loom?

I am assuming that I need to find the correct wire in the loom for the tailgate and splice into that? Is that all or is there more to it?

Also need the bulbs and holders are these just 501's?

You can fall out with people you know lol

Should already have the loom in the bootlid from the days of the foam spoiler (89spec)

Not on a UK matey :whistling:

beg to differ bud, my black zed was a UK spec and had the 89spec spoiler with rear tail light in the spoiler, hence the wiring as well :chinese:

there would be a difference with the tabletop spoiler as it never had a break light in it.

hmmm. I'll have a look tomorrow but I can't remember seeing any wires near the brake light hole. I've had to replace the little strip below it due to rust caused by the old spoiler, which was an 89.

The bulbs in the rear light aren't 501's they are a very unusual size. I got my replacement from a member on here as I couldn't source one locally.

Cheers for that :thumbup1:

I have a UK spec bootlid with 89' spec spoiler, with a brakelight sat in the garage, came from Baz.

Mine didn't mate, i had to wire it in, and yes mine is a uk spec 2.

They're quite a large 501 or T10 clear filament bulb that is 21w.

But as I have a broken panel here I have tested the following bulbs in it and there is no difference but you do need red, and yes this is the same bulb I recommend for everything!!

The bulb holders are just that bit bigger than the dash clock bulbs and I am sure with a bit of modding on the contacts I am sure you can get all four to work if you have some lying about :cool3:

are you sure it's the brake light version? The non-brake light version still has the red diffuser and bulb holes etc. but it wont shine through as it has black over the red lense...

Not now. lol. Bugger I'll have to have another look at it.....

Cheers mate :sailor:

I had the same 'They've dropped a clanger and sent me the wrong one' moment too mate :) I wasn't brave enough to attempt to remove the black covering the red...
