Car keeps cutting out

Weird!! My 300 TT will run on idle for 5 mins then just cut out!! Had a trip on a RAC recovery lorry Saturday! Not happy!! RAC man bout as usless as a chocolate tea pot!! said it may be the fuel pump relay! I have checked that and it seems to work fine!

Anybody had this problem before???

Check a few things.

Clean the water temp sensor and the throttle angle sensor to start. Solved my problem

Cheers!! Sorry but i'm a 3 week old Z virgin!!!!! Any diagrams where they are??

TPS (Throttle position sensor) is on the right hand TB (Throttle Body) as you look at it from the front.

Its a little black box thats fixed to the side and has a three pin electrical connector on it

The water temp sensor that gives us all grief from time to time (esp. if its been moved) is the yellow connector on the top heater pipes that comes out of the front of the engine.

cheers!! The water sensor conector is badly corroded! so tried cleaning it and car will not start at all!! SO that could be problem????

Will any car start with this disconnected??

Yes it would. Still sounds like the PTU to me. Ideally you need to find somone local who will try a swap over for you.

This may be useful, it's from the online manual ( http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi ). Some stuff will he the other way around because this pic is from a LHD.
