as per title my handbrake light is always on it has for a while been coming on and then going again but now its always there i have tryed to lift the hand brake then push it down again hard but with no effect anyone got any clues??

Check your brake fluid - if it's low, your pads may be extremely worn or you've lost some fluid... the going on/ coming off can happen when the fluid is *just* low enough to trigger the light, but then expands slightly when warm, so I'd say worn pads are the most likely culprit.

 

If that's fine, the switch may be faulty.

mine did this after the snow, if you take the centre console out to get to the button for the handbrake, give it a clean and check its functioning properly. check ur wires for anything ovius. see if that cures it. if not take the bulb out and remember you put the handbrake on lol
