Probably not the best way to repair a peeling dash but it's what I've got. There are broken pegs all over, and I have to watch out if I walk past incase one fires off at me lol

At least it's easier out of the car. Getting the main lifted area was quite straight forward, I'm attaching the very edge now to try to get pinned down perfection :)

that thread title is really hard to read... I was thinking WTF... lol

I used bulldog clips, much better clamping and over a wider area.

whoops, sorry :)

I agree Andy

If I had bulldog clips or clamps, I would have used them. This place is swamped in car parts at the moment so I'm getting things swapped out as soon as I can.

I just did what I had the means to at the moment. You can only begin to imagine what our house looks like with all the car parts around. this has to go in the grey grey pretty much ASAP. I've found that the dash has quite a bit of memory in it for shape, so it's fine and MUCH better. :)

There are two 3 to 4 inch areas quite symmetrically placed that are dipped slightly lower which can be easy sorted, but there are no peg marks in the whole thing.

I want to recover the whole dash in a soft black material that doesnt reflect the sun anyway, but that's one of the inevitable debates because Alex wants it kept original. Ah well, the joy of sharing a Z lol

If the dash was all soft dark black, imagine how nice it will look with the vents painted in gunmetal faded to silver. That job would be a bit lost if against the original dash.

£50/metre for alcantara is a bit far fetched for us. Even though I like it, that's too much for either of us. If anyone has a better price or can suggest a good alternative, we would love to hear :)

Flecking ? ;)

Yeh, it's starting to look that way as you are the second to suggest that. Thanks :) I guess I'll see when the time comes. I have just had to sort out the rear cards to transfer too, which shows how I'm liking the soft leather re-trim in the car less and less.
