Does anyone know if anyone has transplanted a 200sx 2.0ltr turbo into a Z32 or how difficult a task it would be.

It's been done for certain, not sure if by anybody here though. Couldn't tell you much detail about it, but you'll need a gearbox adapter plate to use the Z32 box with it.

I've heard it done before. Do a google search for 300zx SR20DET I'm sure something will come up.

I don't know why you'd want a 4 banger turbo instead of a V6 Twin Turbo. Having driven 200SXs, I really really don't understand this particular move? I could almost understand an RB20DET and definitely understand the guy who put an RB26DETT, but why on earth would you put an SR20DET in a Z?

I see your sentiment Hollowpoint, I would agree - 95%. The obvious benefit will be the near 100kg weight saving over the front axle however. If you only want 300-350bhp then the SR will be able to cope well enough, but the benefit to handling would be very noticeable I would guess. If your end goal was a fully stripped track/drift toy then I thnik it makes sense. If, however, you intend to retain the interior and use the car mainly on road, then I think it makes no sense whatsoever.

yeah i agree it doesnt make much sense in the real world, and i suppose in reality if your stripping and track prepping properly they you can always have a "little" fiddle with weight distribution. either by removing or adding ballast.

behind Asda in Donnington but my cars not on the road yet under going an engine rebuild slowly.

The reason for the 200sx engine is of course to save weght and pull the weght further back similair to Top secrets supra they removed 3.0 twin turbo and fitted a 2.0 gt4 engine.

not saying i am gone a do it and yes the skyline engine would be preferred by me but cost of one of buying engine and all ancillary would be a waste whereas i can get hold off a 200sx for around £600 with 2.0turbo
