Hi everyone,

We have been busy looking various areas of the club and how we can make some improvements for the benefit of all our members. The most obvious place to begin with, was the subscription charges - as we're all ever conscious of the cost of things nowdays!

So from the 1st January 2012 there will be a reduction in club membership fees.

The initial sign-up subscription will remain at £20 for the first year; to cover the cost of the membership packs. However thereafter, the renewal will be reduced to £10 per year.

The traders subscriptions will also remain unchanged.

The committee would like to thank the membership for its continued support.

Regards,

Richard Smith

Club secretary

On behalf of the committee

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

erm..... if you look at the constitution it says subscriptions have to be ratified at the AGM....was it decided at the last one in which case the announcement is late, is it to ratified at the next in which case it's not effective immediately or is is there going to be, or has there been and extraordinary AGM ?

Tony, give it up bud.

Just be grateful and welcome the news like everyone else.

Sometimes it seems you're hell bent on grinding your axe - just expressing an impartial viewpoint here, bud.

Only my opinion of course..

Cheers

I think in this case a AGM meeting wasnt needed. If the fees went the opposite way then yes, but a reduction to help after all the talk of club funds is a very good idea.

Its not often i say this so be happy, lol.

WELL DONE COMMITEE ON THIS DECISION

SUBSCRIPTIONS

8)All Full members and Subscribed Traders shall pay such subscription as the Committee shall from time to time determine. Such subscription rates to be ratified at the AGM.

As I read it the subscription can be changed by the committee at any time but needs to be ratified at the next AGM

Although I have a gripe on the way on principle of how the previous constitution was altered as a continued subscribed member I realise that it is in place and as the such I have to fully accept it and be governed by it

Edited by steve burns

why not have an option for members not happy with the decision to pay the higher amount :stupid:

In my opinion tho - good job committee :thumbup1:

....but there is always one.....:glare:

Normally this would have been discussed and ratified at a formal AGM; however the committee unanimously agreed that since this is a reduction in subs (as opposed to an increase), then the move would not be met with any resistance from the membership. Consequently we agreed to push the change through so that it takes effect almost immediately - we will ratify it at the next AGM; but thought it nicer if everyone could benefit from the reduction much sooner. Unlike our governments, past and present!!!

Well said Leo.....

Tony, you remain free to pay the higher sub if you believe that the reduction was not properly implemented; failing that you can of course decide not renew your membership at all.

If you would like to discuss the matter in depth, please PM me. Alternatively feel free address it with me face to face at Jeff's on the 3rd. Otherwise just wind your neck in, stop trying to stir up trouble and welcome the change in the spirit that it was meant.
