Can someone tell be if an autobox off a 96TT will swap over into a 90TT. Also my autobox has the hold/power switch as it is an import, if the donar car is a UK spec and dosen't have this switch can the gearbox still be fitted but without the function of the switch????

Hi Aaron, would love to mate but £1650 is a lot of dosh to part with. You could always leave your beast around here for a day.lol.

Manual box £400 - £600 for full conversion and do it yourself its not that hard just takes a little time.

A manual conversion is probably best as the auto boxes arent the best unless well looked after.You can do a manual conversion on your own in a couple of days taking it easy:cool2:..Lee

In answer to your original question, yes it will fit, but also fit the UK Gearbox ecu as its different to the Jap spec.

Hi Tony - it will; just like Graham says though the ECUs are different batween UK and J-spec.....

 

.....but am I reading correctly - 96TT and UK spec? UK spec cars stopped in 1994 with only the occasional M reg knocking around!

The gearbox is the same between UK and Jap spec, the extra power and hold controls will work with either box, so best leave your ecu as is.

Cheers for the help all. Zedworld is still very tempting though; all I have to do is convince the mrs that investing more money into Zed 6 months before our wedding is the right thing to do!
