which turbo chargers?

So Falcon engineering have informed me that my turbo chargers are nearly worn out. So am thinking of getting new ones, but have also thought of getting hyrids. Which hybrids are reckoned to be the best for the Zed?

Also do other modifications need to be made when putting hybrids on? i guess a chip is the first thing.

cheers

this stage 1 and 2 shit that crappy techiques suggest are not worht it.

I would say if your budget allows go for aftermarket turbos from Jim Wolf ie sport 550s or 600s i think the sport 500s are basically stock with a few minor impellor changes.

If your budget runs higher go for pentroof or HKS gt series blowers.

I think jwt are even making a roller bearing blower now, it all depends on what your ultimate goal is. ie what your after in the way of power.

Additional information and a UK alternative. http://www.turbotechnics.com/turbo/hybrid.htm Very helpful over the 'phone & have supplied a Turbo 'group buy' organised by Johnny (ignoring the controversial breather kit). Johnny would be able to offer additional good advice.

Have not gone this route myself, but believe you should only go for the Stage 2 if the engine internals are uprated.

Wow what a choice - if not constrained by money.

By the way, Greddy's UK distributor is SVS Special Vehicle Services (Tim) and very helpful also ( www.specialvehicle.co.uk ).

I run the JWT Sport 500's with 555 injectors and a JWT ECU and the setup is great. Good power. Auto 1991 Jspec 300zxTT, best 1/4 mile so far is 13.12sec/111mph which ain't bad for an auto is it.

jvnewcomb1961,

how much were those JWT 500's?

cheers guys,

well i have to replace the turbos i currently have as they are badly worn, and as the engine is currently in bits at the garage, then it makes sense to replace them now.

i may stay with getting stock turbos and just take them to 14psi, as i have the JWT chip already for this. I just want to see whether i can get an exchange deal now for the old turbos. thanks again, may try turbotechnics and see what they say.
