Hi Guys,

I originally purchased the car just under 6 months ago. The garaged taxed it for me and were suppose to send of the log book for change of name and owner.

Well its my fault, I forgot about the log book. Never received it. Now its time to tax the vehicle and obviously I cant do that as I have no log book.

I have downloaded a form for obtaining a log book and the fee is £25.00

However I am stuck on the chassis number VIN. My car is a JAP IMPORT and has more VIN numbers than the box will allow.

Can anyone advise?

VIN should start GCZ32 (or similar, depending on exact model) and is on the VIN plate on the Slam panel under bonnet.

also you should of been given the v5/2 if so you can attach this to the v62 forum your filling in now and not need to pay the £25

Im sure I received it, the wife has mislaid my paper work and I cannot find it.

I know where the VIN is but the number is too large (too many digits) its on 2 rows.

Most imports seem to have 9-10 digits, I can't remember fully now. Unlike the current EU nissan chassis which tell you everything about a car.

The import will have less digits than the UK vin. You can also tax the car on the green slip which the garage should've given you.

If you haven't got a tax reminder through the post, i'll bet your name isn't on the logbook.

If you have no green slip either, just fill the form out to get a new log book and pay the £25.

They will get a £30 fine for not filling the logbook out properly!
