Thanks Graham

Weird one this:confused1: drive about 1-2 miles get steam coming from under bonnet on the drivers side, pop the bonnet and its coming from around the rear of the engine and from under the plenum on the drivers side.

I cannot see any leak from this area but loads of steam !

Drive a bit further and it stops completly:confused1::confused1:

There is hardly no water level changes either.

This only started when the top hose outlet snapped off the rad a few months ago! I have checked and rechecked the hose connections on the new rad (fitted new hoses to) and no leak at all!!

Any thoughts people:sad:

Dave

sure its steam? i get a little puff round here looks like ciggarete smoke, its actually the rocker covers driping oil down onto the turbos and manifolds. when i go for a longer drive theyre hot enough to burn it off instantly rather than just smolder, plus i think the metal expands and seals the seal tighter :) hope that helps. try seeing what if anything drips out the engine bay.

go and see jimmer (isn't he in Bristol)

Cheers mate, yes he is not far from me but I dont think its much of a job just need pointing in the right direction:whistling:

lol... yeah, I used a guide from the Oz forum... helped a lot... but like you said wasn't that difficult just need to take your time and be careful..

Oh and make sure you have the gaskets ... or at least the plenum one.. :)

Check the rear water hose, more often than not the jubilee clip can get overtightened and cut into the rubber hose. If that seems too obvious then you will be going down the right route of plenum water bypass as it could be any one of those little buggers under there lol
