Ok, I've got a TT auto and cannot beat a french hatchback in a straight drag, what gives? Are they fast or am I losing power somewhere?

Are your turbos working?

 Not come across one in my Zed but I had a tussle with one in my ST202 Celica and it was pretty much even, if anything the Celica was edging away slightly. So I'd say the Zed should s***t all over it lol

i had a 182 clio, they are bags of fun...but tt zed should be pulling away. NA zed should have a good go too.

Hmm, I looked up the stats, I only have an 11bhp/tonne advantage over it, there's no way I'd ever be 'shitting on it' and pretty much explains everything.

Times move on I suppose.

Exactly that. The Z32 isn't a light car, and the Clio is just full of cheap plastic bits. Where it differs is that the Z is a comfortable cruiser at any speeds and not the performance marque of the Nissan brand.

you should have 184 nm of torque more than the clio.. HP sells cars Torque wins races.. You should wipe the floor with him

A TT has more torque than some F1 engines too... so by your logic... :D

yep but we are not talking f1 we are talking a na 4 banger compared to a v6 tt, if cars like a 182 were proving tough to beat on straights i would get car on rollers and see how its running!

0-100mph is a relatively reliable and simple way to compare straight line acceleration and mid-range performance of 2 cars :

Clio 182 - 17 secs

Stock 300zx TT - 14.5 secs

Basic mods (1bar) 300zx TT - 11.5 secs

The Z was Nissan's performance marque, designed to be the top sports car out there. It just so happens that the GTR proved more popular in later years, and so was the car Nissan concentrated future efforts on.

Well then it's down to the fact you can't seem to drive the Zed properly as in the Zed I've some across far more superior cars to a clapped out french pile of plastic and they haven't had a look in.

now now lol what hasnt been asked was was it a standard clio? but i would also point out out that more than likly youve got boost leaks lol. anyways teh other part is what sorta speeds we talking a auto tt isnt very quick 0 to 40. 30 to a 100 is a whole different game.

Eh up clarkey. glad to see you still got it.

Clio 182s are rapid off the mark, and will give a stock zed a good run upto 50 or 60, both floor it at 80 amd youd murder him.

Hayley has had 172s and 182s before i turned her japanese the cups are also extra quick due to less weight.

Get a decent boost controller on yours and you should be able to keep all the rece boys well and truely behind you!
