Oil Pressure

When the oil sender died last time the pressure would periodically drop to zero.

This time, she never drops below 30 but only hits a maximum of 40 even at 4000 rpm. Oil level is fine using whatever SE put in there and is about 3000 miles old after an open engine experience. Could it be anything else.

After she was put back together she was hitting 70 psi at 4000 rpm.

hi m8,loads of people r gonna tell u to buy a new gauge the stock one are shit!

these stock gauges have been all over the place for me,on 1 engine my gauge seemed to be stuck on 60 psi whatever i did,on another engine i was gettin about 10 psi at idle and now on my 3rd and final engine when i start up my psi goes to about 100 then after it has warmed up it drops to 60 and at idle it sits at about 28 psi,

should be called crazy gauges in my experience!

Mine was doing the same as your 3rd engine. This morning it sticks to 30 psi no matter what I do

I should have a new sensor fitted today which will be the 3rd (Sensor not engine, phew!) that I have fitted in the last 70k

I had to replace my sensor recently! My oil pressure was all over the place aswell. Posi how much have you been paying for the new sensors? Based on what I paid you would be out of pocket for about 240 squids!!!

I'm just gonna get an Autometer aftermarket gauge instead! I would have done that instead of replacing the sensor recently but I had a bad oil leak which was thought to be coming from either the Sensor or the Housing! Turns out it was the housing! Bummer!

my pressure guage reads all over the place - often zero. Car dosen't use any oil so why bother what the crappy guage reads. Mind you, mines an na - ie no turbos to worry about...
