Anyone done their plenum matt red?

Ive seen a few alterations but i cant decide what colour to do mine.

 

Ive dont the throttle cover Gloss black with the raised nissan in red and the balance bar in gloss black.

The original plan was to have the cam covers and rocker covers gloss black aswell.

 

Also would enamel paint be the best to use?

There is a White zed in there with a black engine with red detail. Check it out, it's awesome. Some other nice bays in there as well

Thats the exact one where my inspiration came from its lovely. I either wanted to go for black plenum with red rocker covers or black covers and red plenum

I would go black plenum. There is another pic in the Z nationals thread of a black plenum but with red hard pipes. That looks good aswell!

That thread is a bit amazing. Mine wont be as shiny as all these pics though. Im not flatting that thing down. It would take me an eternity :D

if you get it powdercoated it give's it a deep gloss look! got a meet at a place that does powdercoating next week and got a spare plenum if you want one done?

ok will do, i got my plenum and rockers done ect have a look at me rides for a closer look.

i cleaned up the cast marks and cut off any parts didnt want but the powdercoat process evens out to a smooth finish done a few blue, black, red, orange will try find some pics.

Thanks, Nah i had a small brush and paint from when i did an airfix zed :D

I hand painted mine satin black a few weeks ago looks ok. I sprayed my cam covers and rocker covers yellow. Undecided yet of what to do with the cable cover?

Ok so ive just got a tin of VHT brush on paint and slapped it on nice and thick. Got minimal runs (not that you'll see them its all buried) I think it looks pretty good. Ive just given the inlet covers the same treatment with gloss black, still drying but looks lush. Still undecided on what to do with the throttle bodies and ICV

Looks great. I would do most other things in the bay black now. Black inlet pipes with red silicone would look the balls!

 

Forget the ICV, you cant see it. You can replace the pipework with a nice piece of stainless steel though.

 

As for the throttle bodies....................

 

Cheers, yeah throttle bodies in black with the connecting bit in the middle red, as it flows off the plenum. ICV ill just bolt back on, like you said you cant see it.
