Does anybody here know which way round the two compression rings go on the pistons.

There are numbers punched into both rings 1n and 2n which is top and which is second. I did make a note of their locations on my board during stripdown, but somebodys wiped it and the new parts don't show which way either. The nissan manual is not too specific about it either.

Just had a look @ my old pistons:

 

1n is the top ting

2n is the middle ring

 

(the '1n' / '2n' is facing upwards too)
