I've fitted a used pair of discs from a breaker on the front. I thinly they're 310mm but at work so can't measure for sure. Ive attached standard calipers with the bracket and put new pads on. The discs and pads sound like they are rubbing badly and it hasn't gone away after a 30min drive. The calipers were working fine 5months ago before I took the zed off the road so a bit miffed why they are rubbing? Could it be the caliper pistons?

May be worth removing the pads so as to see if it the disk fouling the calliper.

If all is clear, as the car has been standing, I would compress all of the pistons slightly with a g cramp or similar, may be seized

Make sure you check the reservoir mind, you may push excess fluid over the top.

Be careful also not to damage the piston faces when pressing them back.

I would also clean all of the contact faces and lightly grease to help them not to stick.

Agree with redwine, need to check the pistons, sounds like one is seized a bit. push em out and clean them up. Whats the wear on the disks like??

When i replaced the pads, i had to push all the pistons back so not sure how theyd be seized, but ill have another look at them! Would you use copper grease for the contact faces?

I didnt replace the shims because they didnt look like they needed replacing - could they be the cause?
