Well i have got my zed running again. the trouble im have is that the left bank has a miss. (Can hear the exhaust spluttering) the drivers side is fine and idle seems ok.

I had this fault before i removed the plenum as i thought it was the injectors. The connections where all s*** but i have now replaced all the connectors with new and have spent loads of time cleaning and replacing some of the injectors. there is also new seals in all the injectors. Also all my coil pack connectors are good. When i unplug the coils in turn there is a noticable drop in revs on all 6 cylinders which is why im confused as i cant work out which cylinder is at fault.

Is there anyway i can work out which cylinder is a fault without a conzult?

here is a video. (hope sound works as im using work computer with no speakers) lol

If there's a noticible drop on all 6 cylinders then is the problem a misfire? Don't know for sure as my experience is very limited. Could it be a leak in the exhaust somewhere? loose bolt etc..

i do something although im not sure how safe it is...... lol prob not very. simply work back through the engine with it running, and disconnect each plug, by lifting the coilpack connection, or injector connector. when or if the engine note changes you know that one is working. when you reach one where no difference is heard tahts the cylider that isnt firing. make sure to do a compression test aswel. does your exhaust run bank to pipe with no h or x pipe? if there is a cross then ou wouldnt be able to rely on the exhaust.

no the exhaust are not connected to each other. And i have removed the coil pack one by one when its running and each cylinder has a noticable drop in revs which is why im confused!

I assume you've pulled the injectors connectors one by one as well?

Have you touched the ECU at all?

I have as i bought a greddy chipped one few months back but i had the same fault with the standard ecu to

not yet i was planning to tomorrow but i have just fitted 6 new connectors and cleaned all the injectors and fitted 3 x new seals in all 6 injectors. Even if i had a fault with an injector wouldnt removing the coil plug tell me which cylinder is at fault still?

Only mention it because Boldy's did the same and turned out the plug on the ECU wasn't on square...............

yeah i read that on here before to ill have to give it a go in the morning but im never that lucky lol

No, if the injector is at fault removing the coil plug wouldn't change anything, I had a missfire on the MOT and it turned out to be dodgy injector connection.

oh right ill give it a go tomorrow then hopefully ill find the cylinder at fault! least ill have a starting point lol

i had a missfire and i check all things too and it happend to be a O2 ( Lamba ) sensor shorting out and giving bad signel to the ECU ..

have you tryed unpluging it ?

Nope i will add it to my to do list in the morning

it may not be that not getting the spark and the fuel, it may be taht your not getting it at exactly the right moment, i think you nee dto go and check the base settings, im sure this is a zed world 20 minute wonder fix problem lol.

well i have fixed misfire on the left bank which was me being an idiot and pluging the o2 sensor onto the coil but now i have a mis on no5 cylinder?

Changed coil from 5 to 3 but mis stays on 5. Its getting fuel as when i removed the plug it was wet any ideas?

Feul fowled plug. Get a pair of mole grips and burn the petrol out on the hob it will then spark again properly

I had similar check that you have ALL the connectors in the right places as i had the wrong injectors with the wrong coil packs on mine. it will be something simple I bet. when you switch over the coil pack do the injector at the same time. also check the injectors do a continuety test on them you want between 10 & 14 Ohms just incase you have a duff injector.

you could also pull the fuel pump fuse on the pass side fuse box and disconnect all the injectors and test one at a time to make sure there clicking correctly.

try swapping the spark plugs over also

i spent the rest of the afternoon stripping back my wiring loom to cheack for any breaks or shorts. I didnt find any but i did find that the eaths for the coils are split. I have a large earth that was going to the plenum which i have now moved to the battery and then i had 2 lots of 2 wires going to the earth on the balance bar.

This seems a bit odd to me? does anyone else have earth wires going to the 3 bolts on the balance bar?

im thinking my wiring loom has been chopped about loads!!!!

No those earths should go onto the back of the plenum just under the balance bar

oh right something else i need sort out! is there meant to be more than 1 earth point for the coils? i have 1 large black wire which i have earthed to the battery and then there are 4 small earth wires that go to 2 ring terminals which are on the balance bar

They should be at the back of the plenum! Did you earth the fuel rail? Small 2 inch earth strap that goes from rail to injectors as the injectors are on permanent live?.
