Ok so this has been done a billion times, but screw it, the last few days I've heard some good ones, so here's my latest:

1. Look mum, a ferrari!

2. That looks just like Knight Rider!

3. How do you get it to make that "ptsch" noise?

4. Your cars are both awesome mate! (little 5/6 year old who sees both cars regularly when dropping Michael off)

Kids adore it and are quite open about the fact, but the truth is, the adults lust after it, when we're working on one car or another here, the garage faces onto this little side road and people are forever walking up and down it, the guys all slow down and look the cars way :D

latest one I had the other day was "is it fast? have you ridden it?"

WTF

In the past I've had the KITT remark from kids and even folks in my work !

But funniest thing ever was when I was at a car show and a bunch of kids no

older than 10 were all discussing what it was and one of them who thought

he would show his know how shouted out in a commanding voice that it was

a 'Zee', after seeing the z badge on the front !

my girlfriend at the time refused to believe it was a Nissan - but she had no idea what it was.

I've also had a lad ask if it had NOS fitted (got a bit confused with the dump valves!)

I find the kids to be honest saying nice car mister or similar, blokes seem to deliberately seem to look away.

That's so true. The "ignoring like it's not there" is really annoying, yet the same people don't ignore other great cars. What could it be? Baffles me to be honest.

Can't say jealousy etc. as they are quite happy to complement my S-Type and other cars in the car park, which includes various Porsches, BMWs and Mercs, as well as the 350/370Z.

I've had a few growns ups compliment the car, it's usually the pretty boys that drive the BMW's, Mercs and Porches I find who turn away from it, and I do think it's jealousy, because they know it looks better than their cars and they reckon it'd have a good chance of trouncing their car too, whilst also knowing it cost absolutely fook all! :D

In it's day, it had a pseudo mid-engined look and was definitely in the "exotica" department as far as looks were concerned. It retains that look today, and certainly holds its own against the many coupes based on saloons with 2 doors removed.

The "ignoring" still baffles me though.

For those not in the know, it's impossible to figure out what mine is. The badge at the front is "Z", the steering wheel is adorned with "momo" and there is no labelling on the rear apart from the hardly visible 300ZX between the lights.

It could therefore easily be an Italian exotic...or a kit car!

I'm surprised kids know what KITT or Knight Rider are

Dont forget there is a new series on TV with a new car (a mustang) so probably more of a compliment than we think:thumbup1:

You do ask for it Daz, and I cannot help myself, but what are you doing travelling so slowly up to the kerb and engaging in conversation with middle aged men thinking-023.gif
