So i was looking at these http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3250089.htm

How much were you expecting the Zed to contribute to the new car fund if you don't mind me asking? About half??

Yeah proberly. would be nice to have a little more. but there not really much are they :(

I would proberly change most of the underneath back to stock. stock brakes etc. stock injectors and smic. doubt it will make any differance to the cost. and sell them on.

Also the old wheels could go back on?

Umm 4 door family car? well

dont worry about new stuff more compters more sensors all extra things that go wrong. I hear the evo's are expensive to maintain and eat petrol.

Yeah i do like the hawk eye, but i watch a thing on youtube where they compaired it to the evo 8 and evo 8mr, nsx and a skyline.

It was a really good watch but it was all in jap with subtitles. The evo8 mr won them all on the handleing.

Said the scooby was awful on track and he ploughed through the cones because of understeer, the evo went through 20mph quicker and didnt hit a cone,:w00t:

i had evo5 and still have subaru classic ... and subaru drives far much better ... don`t judge by youtube :) test drive :)

yeah stunning love the db7's one of my all time fav, Buying it would be easy maintaining would be a problem i should imagen?

umm i think there a jag v12? i could be wrong but yeah parts wont be cheap and i cant see many autofactors doing db7 parts but may be worth looking into if they do use a lot of jag parts they wouldn't be to bad

DB7 is nice - but it's actually a Jag straight-6 (3.2 litre i think) with a supercharger bolted on. The V12 came out in the later years of DB7 production (for the "Vantage" models) and it's an Aston unit....

But spending £17k on a 16 year old car - with Aston's "shakey" reliability. No thanks!

Dave, stick to your original plan mate - either sell up and buy a much newer car; or keep the ZX and buy yourself a new-ish, fast and reliable daily driver. (I'd do the latter - well, I did actually.......:innocent:)

And as for the XKR not being made with a manual; of course they weren't! Jaguar knows they'd never sell one as it wouldn't suit their customer base.....

....They don't care about the young fella who might buy one ten years down the line when they have depreciated to buggery. They know their new car market and sell to it accordingly - and then they'll be thinking of the "nearly new" dealership sales in the first couple of years. And again, their customers would not buy it in manual....

Good luck in whatever you decide though - and my thought for the day......

......don't ask what car you should buy on a car forum. Out of 1000 people you'll get 1000 different answers and none of them will be right for you......

Richard:arabia:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

what do you want the car for? is it going to be a weekend toy or a daily driver?

That would bore me to tears.
