I'm after a bit of alternator advice. I have stripped my alternator to have the casing powder coated. I've had to drill out the bearing.

 

I thought it would make sense to have the alternator reconned. Does anybody know anywhere that will do this?

 

Or, is there anywhere that sells reconned 300zx alternators? Hopefully I could send down the casing and they will send back a lovely shiny alternator. :)

 

Or, can I buy a recon kit?

I took an alternator apart and found half the fins bent out of shape, so rather than throw it in the bin, i wondered myself about getting it reconned.

there is a place just down the road from me not got the number to hand but do a search for starter and alternator centre in cinderford
