Tyre Pressures for 18's??

Hi Guy's

Is it right that for 18" wheels you go up 2psi per inch.

So for 18's would that be 34psi allround.

Any info much appreciated.

Cheers Dave.

Hairsy wrote something about a psi increase for every %age decrease in height. I'll have to check my email, but hopefully the poor guy will be sitting around bored witless in Wales smile.gif and will respond before I find it ! biggrin.gif

Here it is ...... if you've got larger wheels then a reasonably good rule of thumb is to add 2 psi for each 5% drop in profile (e.g. add 2 psi if going from a 245/45 16 to a 245/50 17).

Not wishing to get into an argument about this but when I changed my standard wheels for 18's I spoke to the Pirelli technical advice line and was told that whatever the size of wheel or tyre the psi in them always stays the same as for the standard tyres. It is determined by the car manufacturer and their OEM tyre supplier during tests. So 33psi front and 36psi rear whatever is fitted.
