Just read on Driftworks that Redline magazine has been given the chop by it's owners. Only two issues to go before it shuts up shop for good.

Shame really as Redline was one of the better car mags

Max Power has obviously already gone (understandably as it had gone to the dogs since editors changed over)

but this all got me thinking, does anybody remember a car mag from the '90s called 'Revs'? it closed its doors quite a while back but that had some good zed features over the years

i thought all them type mags had the same format myself...4 pot jap screamers with over the top paint and body kits including a good helping of what looked liked 14 year olds showing tits and arse.

To be fair to Redline the guys did put a lot of focus on ensuring that there were plenty of technical features included in each edition including rotational mass tests, unsprung weight effects on braking and handling, basic ins and outs of turbos vs superchargers vs VTEC etc, so really some quite interesting reads.

I very rarely bought the mag after '05 though and only used to pick up a copy at the airport to supplement my usual JP and Banzai fix, but Redline was always leaps and bounds ahead of some of the other rubbish (Max Power for example with it's tacky body kitted and neon totting Corsas/Novas and 206 quicksilvers driven by 16 year olds)

I haven't bought the latest edition but I probably will, it features a self built road car that's faster to 200mph than a Veyron!

A bit more than just 16 year olds with 1ltr Saxos then

I subscribed to Redline when it first came out, will have the first issues somewhere! was a great mag and a breath of fresh air, not bought one for years though.

What do you mean......Getting.......:tt2::tt2:

Does anyone remember cars and car conversions? That really was a good magazine, I don't think it's ever been replaced. It was less tacky than a lot of the modern mags and more informative.

So you can still get ccc under a different name? If so what is it, I'll have to get myself a copy!
