Hello people, just wondering where the best place is to get cheap car insurance for the zed, my best quote is £850 from Adrian Flux. It's actually cheaper than I was expecting but you don't earn no claims bonuses, just though someone may know somewhere better! Also the reviews for them are terrible!! Cheers!

if you give more specs on the car and your requirements maybe someone can help...

i.e. JDM or UK, TT or NA, Manual or auto, mileage pa, you're age (about) :)

you do get no claims from AF although their prices have gone through the roof this year so im moving away from them next month, try Lyndbrook they seem to be a good alternative and seem to be much cheaper.

I have mine through Heritage buddy: -

Give them a try, I pay £180.00 with a 3000 mile a year policy, and agreed value of £3,500.

Great meeting you at JAE by the way.

Cheers for the names! It's a 91 LWB n/a 70,000 miles I'm 32 2 years no claims clean license! Adrian Flux say my premium would go down with them but I couldn't carry it over to another company!

Import or UK and how many miles a year will you be driving... both very important bits of info as lost of companies have mileage limits (e.g. Lynbrook) on classic insurance and others won't insure imports.

I was on the phone with aviva for about half an hour just to be told it would be 4 grand!! That was fun.

you were quoted happy then?? lol

I went with admiral on their multi car policy. saved me on all my insurances, the rates I got for my other cars are frozen until I need them..

i'm on multicar with admiral only bought my current zed last year so only on 1st full year insuring it costs me £420 fully comp mines a import though would of been £100 less for a uk model

lynbrooks £325 no claims shadowed agreed price 8000 miles

euro cover / brake down / window £60 / Leagle cover/ Hire car

Me 35 6 years ncb Clean DL

Performance Direct £218 3000 miles but i am 43.What i liked was being a classic car policy they didn't need to use my no claims discount ,that enabled me to have full no claims discount on my other vehicle.

Sky insurance are really good. I pay less than that with all mods declared and valued at 15000

Sky Insurance do not do agreed values - you might have told them that's what you think its worth, but they haven't agreed to it. I know this because I went to great lengths to try and agree a value on my car now the engine has been rebuilt (so now I have to pay another 300 quid a year, the fookers), but they would not agree to a value - they just won't.. Give em a call if you're unsure, better you find out now, rather than when you need it.

I wouldn't recommend Sky to be honest.

Think the Zed is costing about £450 on admiral multi-car. JDM, Mods declared, 10k a year and business mileage.

Rough guesstimate as I've only just got it back on the road and the policy has a couple of months left.

A lot of people going with Admiral multi car then, but the zed will be my only car so that rules that out! And as for "quote me happy" i was just happy to get off the phone! Thanks for all the advice and the warm welcome from everyone!!

wow i just gave heritage a go for mine and i even lied about my points and they told me £1900 with 3000 miles and 10 years no claims!!! Thank F for the traders policy! haha

Ive just gone with footman and james, 205 quid for a jap tt im 27 with no no claims. 3000 mile a yr and car has to b garaged.

what is a "gray or parallel import"?

Gray import means a car which wasn't available for sale in the country it is now being insured (like my old skyline). A parallel import probably refers to the fact that a Fairlady is the same as a 300zx, which was available for sale in the UK. Bit of a guess, but seems logical.
