Exhaust smoke!!!

Noticed tonight my zed has started smoking out of the n/s exhaust when idling, but not straightaway its after 30-40 seconds.doesnt appear to be smoking when moving and appears to be boosting fine but smoke smells funny

Am I assuming the worst when I think buggered turbo or could it be something simple?

I have got a dodgy tps and the exhaust tips on both sides are very sooty

Please tell me it isnt a turbo after only 2 weeks of ownership :(

Hard to tell in the dark, but think it is very rich as tps is all or nothing.motor isnt making any funny noises and no change in power.

Try raising the tickover speed a little by switching the AC on next time it does it, often breather issues with the pcv valves can be the culprit and rausing the tickover changes the vacuum balance within the breather system and stops the smoke.

The pcv valves are the first stop anyhow as they are inexpensive in comparisson to turbo change, £80 (ish ) instead of £1,800 ( ish )

Well..... Drove the 15 miles to work this morning and left it idling while I unlocked the gates, started the truck etc and no smoke at all!!!

could it been just a bit of condensation in the exhausts or something?

it could be a little bit of pcv trouble had problems with mine changed the pcv's and had smoking for months after (i dont drive the zed much) so intially i thought the worst mine has now stopped smoking and running fine, just monitor it fella and as jefftt says pcvs are the first thing to change.

it's easier just to replace them pcv valves cost circa £10 each, it's a fidley job to get them out, and almost certainly the pipes will split (hence why it's circa £80 as mentioned by jeff) contact mr.f on here in the traders section he can give you prices on the parts
