Been working on this for a while, a few niggles to sort out yet, but I`m nearly there, I can take it out in less than 20 seconds, its got sat nav,dvd,mp3, speed/compass status,gps, internet, well everything from the android market in a high deff 10" screen, I love it!!! even got angry birds :wink:

 

 

 

 

This is the car app to have for android, some of the functions work and it looks fab on the screen, just get your mate to make it work on our cars!!!

It depends on the exact model. I can use mine as a regular phone aswell but this is the reason I havent upgraded the Android OS because am afraid of losing that function. But this is Android with all the same basic gubbins, so if my model will do it, I'm sure we'll find a way to make others do it.... maybe that would be a job for that Android dev you was talking about which would definitely bring him a lot of kudos.

I would love to show this off at Jae, but the tablet may be going back to the shop :( well the shop on ebay, I havent been able to get the gps working and found out (after opening it up) it wasnt connected the the main board inside :(, i have only today been contacted back from them after a million emails, and they are offering me an exchange, so unfortunatley i think its going back and I have to wait 10 days for a new one, ahhhhhhh

Its an ipod copy that runs on android, its called a flytouch3 or epad, they are all over e-bay and for the price they are excellent!! they are not a patch on a real ipad, but ok for the car/home, the stats for them make them better than an Ipad but when they are side by side the ipad is clearer, faster, smoother but 4 time`s the price :tt1:

Streaming live video(sky sports) will be slow at the moment, it runs on wireless and 3g, there are millions of wi-fi hot spots around but if your moving in the car then it will just keep dropping signal, I reckon next year then things will be much better, these tablets are the future and are getting better and better all the time, If you want stuff like live streaming in your car then wait a bit or spend thousands, but for now I`m happy with it, it does however have 2 sd card slots and videos run great on them, so watching a dvd on a sd card is fine

Top notch Daz, looks absolutely fantastic and brings the dash bang up to date, hats off to you. Ive got to get my 2 din unit working before i can even consider something like that, but i love it.

At the moment it is connected through the headphone socket into my double din, it sounds ok, it deffo needs to be run through an amp as the inbuilt speakers are crap!, dont buy one if your well into perfect sound quality coz you wont get it (buy an ipad) :), so at the moment my music comes through my IPOD into my double din and not through the flytouch, as I said it is gimicky and not perfect, but for the price its fab

Yes dude ;) i didnt want to take that out as its a good unit and sounds awesome, its a tight fit for both, but a bit of careful measuring, they both go in together ....stop copying!!! :tt2:

Thanks mate, but i dont know, I`ve got lots to do yet and my car is a bit of a miss mash at the moment :( my new seats havent been trimmed yet due to a bit of a set back, and my gadget has to go back to the shop, so no where near ready for JAE :(
