Roses car has 2 different sets of spacers on the front, adding up to about 15mm, but with standard studs. The threads on the nuts and studs are fubarred, so Roses car is once again off the road until we source new studs and nuts :( This is TOO close to JAE and we really need to sort it.

Anyone know what length is needed then? What length are the standard ones?

If I were you i'd get some new standard studs and some hubcentric spacers. More expensive but a far better option.

tbh I want to put hubcentrics on it, but they won't give it more thread on the studs. So need to replace the studs, as they are fubarred and the nuts, as they are fubarred too, then when that's all done, hubcentrics. We didn't fit these spacers btw, they came with the car because of the wheel offset.

Standard length on the front is 42mm x 12mm x1.25 pitch, not sure if the rear are the same length. Search Nissan wheel studs on ebay and you will find what you want.

As long as the head of the bolt is the correct fitment for the spacers.

You've lost me. Head of the bolt and spacers? The bolt should go through the spacers from behind the hub?

duh blonde moment!!! I've just re read the 1st post. Yes you need new studs the ones in the link will be fine as long as they don't need a trim (sometimes happens!)

A trim? Like a haircut? i.e. need to be made shorter?

lol yeah. They'll prob be fine but I know a few peeps who have had to trim the stud cos there a few mil to long. Get them asap so you have time for adjustments before JAE

Pete, thanks for the link, unfortunately that's more than I have in the budget at the moment, with Rose looking for a job and JAE etc. coming up this month, plus my sons 6th birthday, I'll just have to buy the studs this month and look at those spacers WITH studs in a few months time.

Give them a call. i think they do studs on their own.

Its a 38k car when new,a hundred quid is a drop in the ocean really, its only slightly more than a tank of fuel

yip, and right now my ocean is really tiny. It wasn't when we bought the first one, nor when we bought the second one, but what with shit going wrong, all the bits needing to be replaced on both cars, then things like Roses contract being cancelled at the last minute a few weeks ago on top of that, £100 is a lot of money at the moment. A couple of months from now, Rose will be working again, other stuff will be sorted out and £100 won't even be a second thought.

Would these bolts be clased as radius or tapered? I decided to go with the hucentrics after all as I'd been looking at the wrong set anyway.

Well just ordered a set of 15mm Hubcentrics (System2) with longer studs from Petes link, so cheers for that Pete. £101.80 delivered, plus an extra £15 for a full set of new wheel nuts as well. Should be here by Tuesday next week, which sucks, because now Roses car is off the road AGAIN until then, I can't put my car in the garage to change my suspension over or sort my plenum etc. out before JAE, because the wheel can't be secured back on the car and therefore it cannot be moved! I'm away in London next week, this weekend is now completely lost for doing anything on my car before JAE, GRRRRRRRRRRRAH! :@

The one silver lining, is that we found it this way, and the wheel didn't just decide to fly off on the way from Scotland to here, or from here to Gaydon and back, here to Berkshire and back, or any of the other journeys Rose has done in this car, for many of which, my 5 year old has also been in the car!

Lesson for everyone, do not put 15mm spacers on your front wheels, without also putting longer studs in! I just wish we'd noticed the bloody problem sooner! JAE is now closing in and the garage is basically out of use for the next 6 days! Pissed off doesn't even sum it up!

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that with all the fluffing about with the wheels off, and on, and off to sort this out, the drivers front just fell flat on it's F***** face on the garage floor, so now the chrome rim has dents in instead of being perfect!
