Hi all , does anybody know how to disable the little push button that you need to depress when the igntion is off in order to remove the ignition key, at present i have a turbo timer wired in but a bit pointless really as i cant remove the igniton key until its counted down and turned the engine off anyway. i want to be able to remove the key , leave the engine running whilst the countdown does its thing, lock the car up and walk away.

You shouldn't have to do that and it should do exactly what you want it to do.

Hi Zee, at the moment the little release button will only allow me to disengage it when the engine has stopped running, are you suggesting it may be wired in incorrectly, ????if so any ideas where i should start to look to fault find pls

I is probably wired wrong. Have you sliced the wires in or did the timer come with a harness and fit its directly?? Mine is sliced in and I'll take a pic of it for you that shows which wire is sliced into which in the ignition.

I can take the key out of mine and leave it running. For the MOT I switch the Turbo Timer off.

Otherwise I set the Turbo Timer for 3 minutes and I can turn the Key back, press the button and take the keys out and the engine keeps running for three minutes until the Turbo Timer switches the engine off
