I fooking hate Escorts !! :hammer:

But ?:confused1:

That is rather nice ! :cool3:

Alan.......

That is lovely mate! build another garage, quick!

Its a fantastically restored example.........but of all the escorts the Mk3 has to be the worse.......and I've owned 4 of the shitty things.

Was ooh and aahing over a few of these at the classic car show at tatton park, Cheshire, yesterday. A few zeds there as well

that is so nice and a true RS .....a much much better car than the XR3i ever was......someone from the UK RS owners club will snap that up for sure

very nice example and a good investment

Just think one day our Zeds will be worth that sort of money :whistling:

Thing is I dont have the room for it, I would buy this in a split second if I had somewhere to put it  but my garage is full.

And no im not selling my zed for 2.5K after spending 60+K on it to make space.

Had 1 of these loved it but that was 1987!!!

I agree that it's a fine example - and I'd also have to say that Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts would be higher on my list than the Mk3......

......but with reference to the sporting models, I reckon the later Mk4/5 got worse still!!!

And I was never a Ford fan during the 1980s; but some of the cars from those days now have "retro-cool appeal" for me. I guess it takes me back to my youth. Which can never (sadly) be recaptured........

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Im no mk4 or Mk5 fan either. The Mk1 & Mk2 were by far the best......but the Mk4 had the RS Turbo and the Mk5 had the Cosworth and were better cars to drive overall.

Nice, but not 9k Nice! I'd rather own another newer Z for that money!

Actually yes, you have a point there Dave....

....I was getting my "marks" mixed up - thinking of the Mk4 as a facelifted Mk3, instead of as a new car:whistling:

So yes, the Mk4 was a step up from the Mk3 (although the Mk5 range was crap apart from the Cossie). But don't forget the RS Turbo came out in Mk3 form first - remember they were virtually all in white and looked otherwise similar to the RS1600i Martin started the thread with...?
