got a phone call today to say my brother in law took my 9 month old Maltese terrier to the beach today at 7 am to walk him...beach was deserted at that time and at 9 months he's still a pup and very inquisitive....off he bounds to some raggy assd big mongrel who appears on the beach off his lead who just turns on him and tears his face near his eye and muzzle and gouges his stomache ...little Alfie was terrified and was in full submit mode and the other mutt just kept lunging at him befiore his skanky owner could pull him away.......dogs like that need a muzzle , had that been a kiddie it would have probably killed it......feel like beating the pulp out of someone as im stuck 3000 miles away....and FUMING !!

i never let riddick off the lead as im always afraid of him getting into a fight, i once had a guy telling me i shouldnt have a big dog like that when his off the lead dalmantion bit riddick and he bit him back

i tied riddick to the fence and told the guy once he had his dog on the lead i was gonna clip the stupid fat coont, he got his dog on the lead and ran away

i was furious and i told the guy if i see it off the lead again then it's gonna get my foot up it's ass and he was gonna get a clip, he always has it on the lead now

as you said, it could have been a child it bit, if it's got the ball's to bite an 8.5 stone bulldog then a kid would be no challenge

Aw, poor pup. Unusual for a dog to go for a puppy. Hope he's better soon. Don't suppose the other owner left his details?

attachment.php?attachmentid=61119&stc=1&d=1313934050 little Alfie after getting clipped ......yeah hes a tough little sod and as you say , will be all the wiser for the tussle

Really sorry to hear that mate. Did they get his details for the Police and he should be made to cover the vets bills!!

As already said, that could be a child and it's not worth thinking about. People seam to forget that dogs are animals and need to be trained, controlled and watched over. I love dogs and that guy should never be allowed to own a dog!!

there is a guy that comes down my way with his dog off the leash and it always runs for my dog even when mine is in the garden yet no one says anythin about it but because mine is a japanese akita i get told oh you should keep those dogs on a leash which i do always

i hate people that dont control thier dogs, if you cant see it your not in control. winds me right up when a dog comes bouncing through the bushes and ambushes you no owner to be seen, these people really should think more like you said imagine if that was a nipper! my dog is a little shite, hence why he doesnt come off the lead. he wouldnt do much damage cos its only small but i dont trust him, so he doesnt get let off simples!

Always used to go out armed with a rape alarm and a squirty bottle of water. One or other would normally deter unfriendly dogs. Our Jake was a great dane x boxer and would fight if seriously challenged so I found prevention was better than cure. U get to be an expert in dog body language!

still talking to Jeff at zedworld to pry my car back off him , (K sport 8 pots going on with huge discs front and 6 pots at the back with huge discs :) hopefully this time home i wil be driving it once again so Sept 18th i will be through to Boro .....drop me a pm with your address or where you want to meet up and i will bring it round so you can take it and your fella for a blast and a pose ......

I get this all the time matey when i walk my alaskan malamute, bloody owners leave there dogs to roam free straight up to my dog and start growling, i swear one day as cruel as it may sound i will boot any dog that comes up to mine growling or snarling ready to bite, im defending myself from attack!!!

owners keep saying my dogs ok, yeah probably is, but mine is on a lead and is a very dominant dog, so any stray dog that comes near me and looks a bit dominant will be met with a set of knarling knashers the size of a bear i kid you not!!

i've researched my breed of dog before i owned one and know full well its strong hunting instinct, and dominant behaviour and i would say i am a very responsible dog owner, always on a lead and well behaved, until another dog comes up to her and starts yapping and growling

i wont stand for that at all, and in the eyes of the law mine is on a lead so if it bites another dog thats off there lead its down to the irrisponsible owners that leave there dogs off the lead and let them stray away from there owners

i have seem many dogs off there lead but are very well trained, they stay by there owners heels at all times, its the the ones who just dont care about where there dog is or who they approach the problem is!!

absolutely spot on ....unfortunately its those irresponsible owners that give other responsible dog owners the bad press they get for letting their animals foul the pavement , bark and yap at all hours, ..i think there should be an exam taken first before you get a dog license......

Fastredz, the problem you would have mate, is if they got into a scrap and the other owner came over to stop the fight and your dog bit him, your dog would be put down as the dangerous dog :( I hear what you're saying about other owners and dogs but it's just not worth risking your dogs life over ;)

I honestly think that so called breeders have a lot to answer for, they're the ones who should have a license and they should not be able to just churn out litter after litter and sell to anyone. People found selling an animal withought a license or at least be registered, should face a heavy fine!!!!

That's what my dogs have all been like, the Husky will be a little harder to train that way, as he has a very strong prey and hunting instinct, but he's getting there now. The only way to train a dog to be good with animals and children, is to train them around animals and children. When I'm done training Syntax, he won't say boo to a goose unless it honks at him, if you get the metaphor.

My Labrador Collie cross would walk at my heel with no lead and even if she saw a squirrel or something she wanted to chase, she'd look up at me first, if I didn't say "Go on then" she'd just stay at my side, same thing with my German Shepherd, just got to hope the Husky is that trainable, if not, he'll be on a lead, simple as that!
