When fitting this today I found I cannot use the bottom hose support bracket

What way has anybody else secured this?

The only way I can see is attaching it by cable ties to the anti roll bar.

Also after fitting this I cannot believe how open to the elements the bottom hose is, if you ran over something sharp the potential there to cut the hose is unbelievable.

I agree, I had a nightmare even pushing my rad in, let alone getting anything else standard to fit where it should! The bottom pipe I just cable tied to the anti-roll bar, because mine never had the bottom bracket anyway. If the under-cowling is still on the car, the bottom pipe isn't exposed, but it's very rare to find a car where the under-cowling is still attached :D

my under cowling was there when i brought it then it just er disappeared....... whoops

Yeah Rose still had the under cowling on her car when she bought it, then whilst I was under it with a ratchet and a screw driver one day it just fell off!!!!!

I still have the under cowling on my car but it doesn't go beneath or cover bottom hose!

There are two undertrays, the forward most one is more of an under bumper cover, I guess this the one you have fitted, the second under engine one extends from the first one under the bottom pipe area and back to the sub frame, it sound like you missing the second/main undertray

:cool3:Thanks for that Jeff, I am racking my brains at the moment I am sure it was on there when I purchased the car in 03!

Does the second undertray have a removable panel for the sump plug, if it does I can remember removing it to drain oil?

The sump plug and filter are further back than where the tray reaches to so no need to remove, there is a small access flap for the original radiator drain plug, most likely that is what your remembering.

bottom hose bracket i used the complete orginal battery drilled a extra hole in the rad end (opposite the hole already there) so a cable tie would pass through the bracket then just used ties to attach to the rad
