of my girlfriends own pub :)

 

caz and her long time friend donna are signing the contracts to run there own bar , to say i am proud of her is an understatement, she has always wanted her own place ever since she started working in bars and restaurants since she was 18.

 

A bit of history is that donna was caz's boss when she first started working bars, caz ended up donna's protegee and she ended up the bar manager.

 

when caz and i decided that we wanted to live together we made a big decision and left our home town to move to Bournemouth meaning caz had to leave her job at the queens head..

 

well when we moved to Bournemouth caz took a retail job and for 5 years she worked her way up from sales staff to a management position...but she always craved getting back into the pub trade, her passion eventually overwhelmed her and she quit her job to go and work for harvester as an assistant manager. she has been working there for the last 3 years. she works very hard regularly clocking up 50+ hours a week on salary pay.

 

well the opportunity came when her long term friend donna moved to Bournemouth and talk started up about how good it would be to run a pub together and now with them both having extensive knowledge in the hospitality trade they kept an eye out for a suitable business.

 

this leads me to the present, we found one!! the names a bit hit and miss but we are going to use it as a great talking point to get the customers to come in.

 

we have a bit of work to do over the next few weeks and we pick up the keys on Thursday, it will be caz's and donna's business but it will also be caz and my home .

 

SOOO after boring you with the history and whats been going on in my life i would like to say.

THE GRAND OPENING IS THE 2ND OF SEPTEMBER at 5PM!!

 

it would be great to see some fellow zedders there if you can attend, we are hoping to ram the place to get a good start on this oppertunity. there is going to be a free buffet subject to availability and entertainment (probably be karaoke) so get your singing voices in check lol

btw a dorset knob is a very well known local speciality biscuit and would you believe it at the beginning of the year there are special events which celebrate it and they have knob throwing contests hahahahahahah.

 

its also a specific type of door knob.

 

 

so to all get your asses down the knob! or the D.K as we tend to call it ;)

Fantastic news!!!, My family have been in the pub buisness for over 40 years, my mum has been a landlady for 30 years and I have been behind the bar a fair few times and done lots of waitering, Its a tough buisness especially in these times but it will all come back good again and I hope you all well, I wish I was a bit nearer and I could come and have a look at your knob,lol

I can well believe it hahaha unfortunately bud NO Stella !!! Shock horror, we will have fosters, kroni and hoffbrau on pump for lagers and tanglefoot and badger on the real ale pumps.There are more but I cannot remember just now.

 

What about some house special real ales like Knob gobbler,Tangle Knob,or a cider maybe Strongknob. Some phallus beer pump levers perhaps.Or maybe a House special Hot Dog,the 12" knob special "eyewateringly good"

we are hoping to have a couple of local celebrities coming along but not confirmed as yet,

 

been soo busy painting and tidying up the outside! im currently building a new front sign as the old one was knackered. sooo much more to do and time just seems to be flying by!!

Only just caught up with this, well done Caz and all the best with what looks like a cracking place. We'll have to have a run out to you some time, if you can accomodate 2 brats, sorry I meant little angels;) Mind you disappointed there's no 6X, ha, ha!!
