Air in clutch system, what problems will this cause??

Bled the clutch fluid this morning and there was a shit load of air in the system. What would cause this problem?. Is this a common problem on manual Zeds?. How would this affect performance on the car?. My Zed seems to have a lot of power there but does not seem to be as quick as it once was. It does not have the same kick at 3000 RPM. Thought that my RPS clutch may be knackered but don't know now.

I would be grateful for any views guys!!

You would probably feel the clutch not disengage properly and when it warmed up the problem might be a little less bad.

Thanks for the reply Andy, sorry to be a bit thick here bit would this problem also mean the clutch would not grip properly and slip as a result??.

Na m8, exactly the opposite if anything.

The clutch will remain engaged, i.e. gearbox and engine locked together via the clutch friction plate, until you depress the clutch pedal and disengage the drive.

Yup, just what Tim said. Will mean difficulty getting into gear to start with and changing gears. Pedal may feel very light to start with then stiffen up a little after the air is compressed. Reason it might be slightly improved when warm is that the air will expand a little as it warms up - would still be shite though.
