I went for a drive this afternoon, driving into Rugby with roadworks, lights went green off i went when i saw a sign saying RAMP AHEAD, so with my front end being low I slowed down so i would not do any damage, before i knew what happened a **** in a company car rams me up the ass,

 

 

Damage to rear quarter, exhaust and rear bumper,

 

I spent most of my working life with bodywork, so it has not done any chassis damage,,,, PORTA POWER , will jack it back into shape,

 

Its just a question now of convinsing the insurers not to write it off

I have just had a phone call from the guilty party,s insurers ADMIRAL, they have admitted full responsibility,

 

They offered me a Nissan 1.0 litre courtesy car,,,,, I said your havin a laugh, I drive a 180mph car,,,, RESULT, sorry MR CLARKE, would you accept a BMW M3 ?, I said i will think about it,,, YESSS result lol

 

The next question was about whip lash, lol, WOULD YOU ACCEPT A ONE OFF PAYMENT WITHOUT KNOW QUESTIONS ASKED ?/// UMMM ... yes,,,, A GRAND, OK NO PROBS.

 

So, the morale of the story,,,, DON,T ASK DO NOT GET

chris my mate got £3000 about 5 years ago for whiplash . dont sell youself short mate . never accept the first offer , tell them you will see them in court and i bet they will treble the offer

Gutted about the crash, but look on the bright side... An M3!!!!!

Think you sould come to mine in it, you can have what like off my breaker for a drive of the M3!

 

On a better note, if they write it off, you should get a few grand pay out, you know you can repair it cheaper, so you'll be quids in. I know its not ideal, but its happened now.

Agreed! Sorry to hear about this Chris! I'm sure she will be back as she was in no time.

 

Also Steve makes a valid point about insurance - as a younger driver I would just like to say for anyone that might be reading this please dont be one of these that exaggerates damages and causes my insurance to be even more extortionate!! (as I'm sure you wont Chris)

On the back of that the main reason for increased insurance cost are the increased claims costs. A lot of people choose to go through these claims management companies, this cost insurers more than when they use their own people, then claims these days have an extra 1 or 2 grand on top for whiplash claims because everyone automatically puts that claim in. Insurance premium tax went up over the last year too. The other main contibutary fact is that everyone wants compensation for even the smallest things these days like policy docs taking an extra day... This sort of behaviour pi$$es me off.
