ah right Daz cheers looks like what im after so you put a TT clutch on and NA gearbox for your conversion? Did you have anymore of the starter motor spacers made up? I thought the g/box needed grinding near the otherside as well?

Nay worries mate, yes TT clutch and flywheel and N/a box, thats the only bit I ground out of the bellhousing and had no problems at all, I did have 3 sets of spacers but they were too thick for some reason, I was told they shoud be 5mm but found out they should have been about 3mm, but cant be sure, I think i mention it at the end of my thread ,I will have a look, I ended up grinding my spacer down to fit. hope that helps bud

Daz

would it not be easier / better to swap in a tt bellhousing to the na box, getting a bellhousing from a shagged box wouldnt be too hard.

Not really, It takes less than 2 mins to grind the very tiny amount out of the bellhousing, its a really easy job and I also read somewhere that its not needed, but i never took the chance.

oh i didnt relise this i thought it was a large chunk. what is the purpose of the of the lump?

Its not really a lump, Its just the tt flywheel is a slightly larger diameter than the n/a and the grinding just gives the clearance for the larger diameter flywheel in the smaller size bellhousing... why they made it smaller, i dont know, the shim is used to space the starter motor also away from the larger flywheel, hope that helps mate

so what stops us from using the na flywheel etc with an uprated clutch to lighten the flywheel load im sure there was some kind of logic behind this.
