the clutch is goosed on our 70000 mile transit at work and im off this week, my boss just rang and i thought he was gonna say "ive had the clutch sorted"

 

instead he said "we will go get a brand new van next week when ya back"

 

bit shocked as he is usually like a fishes ass lol

TBH its not great, arches are rotting, chassis is away under bonnet, it's very dissapointing as it gets cleaned and dried and garaged all the time

front mate, it's a 2001 in red, been a good van

 

i think my mate's gonna buy it and do the arches and so forth

oh and we are only the second owner

If they are newer vans, most of the time the limiter is just plugged into the OBDII slot, just unplug it

Transits are built to last. Ive got a new one,(works van) lwb tipper. 350 turbo. electric everything, even has blue tooth and air con. not the quickest, but with a pallet of bricks and loads of scaffold on, has no probs. plus its great for clearing houses. fill it up and take to the skip place, tip it all out.

Plus people get out of your way..........

Its on an 06 plate mate transit connect i was led to believe that its done by programming on the ecu? If that isnt the case and it is just a matter of pulling a couple of connections then you would really make my co-pilots day :lol:

you will find its the Dual Mass Flywheel thats given up on the tranny its very very commen.

We have the renault and Vauxhall 115 and the 150 bhp sportivee models in our fleet and none of them live a long life, terrible vehicles they will need a gearbox guaranteed after 60-70k the best by far are Toyota's hi ace 280 they never break

ours are on lease so get new ones every year for some reason so never live that long but there brill to drive

Nice one Stellaz, good work horses are Transits, had a few of them, Merc Vitos are for me now, the newer one drives much better than my zed! its like a car to drive, quite nippy too, but the electrics are starting to get gremlins :(

we looked at other vans when we got the red one, but the tranny was the best all rounder, the others were just too small and we are always moving furnoiture about

Its good when you get unexpected pressies like this. I got a new van off work a few months ago. A nice 313cdi merc sprinter van. Bluetooth radio, cruise control, electric windows, reverse camera. Was well chuffed. Wasnt expecting a new van as my old one was only 2yrs old and id only done 78000miles.

new van ordered, getting it in a fortnight, its a transit trend, similar to the one in the link below, same color and trim but it's just the 2.0tdci
