squeeling belt

I can hear squealing from a belt under the bonnet, which one is it as i take it wont be cam belt due to it having teeth and not slipping wich leaves the one attached to the water pump etc... if it squeals now and then is this i sign of it going and needing replacing ??

might just add, it mostly does it just after the car has been started as i pull away reving to maybe 3000 usually after being stood for a few hours or maybe over night, i thought it may be wet from rain and so ir slips if thats possible, cause after it squeals once i take it easy and warm up the car and after that its fine.....

you may just need to tention it back up could either of the front belts ones does alternator/power steering other does aircon

cheers mate, probably take it to see jeff and get him to do it. needs a service etc anyhoo.. :) thanks again

You have 3 auxillery belts for the Waterpump, Alternator and Aircon.

The most likely one for squeeling on first statup is the Alternator belt, as the alternator works overtime to make up for the charge lost overnight and from starting.

The Adjusters can be reached from underneath or above if you move the fan out of the way.
