Hi,

I have an M registered automatic ZX , full leather , targa top.

The car is my second the original was stolen after much work was done at Maldon.

A few years ago the ZX blew a gasket which started a train of events ( basically let down badly by 2 garages) and I became so disenchanted I have sincelet the car sleep at the side of the house.

As the ZX has always been and still is my favourite car I have never had the heart to sell it despite realising that at 64 I am probably too old to own it and no longer have the funds :wheelchair::wheelchair:(grandchildren see to that ) to fund the necessary repairs.

What prompted me to look at it again was an article in the May edition of Banzai featuring a beautifully rebuilt 1200hp zx. I must say I was tempted to restart the love affair but my wife has persuaded me that my Fiat coupe turbo is fun enough for someone my age

venturi, hi and welcome to the club, ive had to edit your thread and the title as registered users are not permitted to sell, you have to be a paid up member.

We take a no tolerance stance on this im afraid, the reason being was that in the past we have had people come on, put what sounds like a bargain on the for sale sale section in their first posts. and then when someone has given up their hard earned, nothing has been heard of them again and no parts have exchanged hands.

So as a way to help protect our members, if someone is genuine £20 is a small price to pay, i know it doesnt always work, but has stopped the majority of it happening.

So if you would like to sell, you will have to subscribe.

vodkashorts,

thanks for that. I did a search (obviously not thorough enough ) and didn't find anything about paying a subscription to sell ( can you point me to it).

I appreciate the point you made and am happy to pay the £20 - can I do that on site what is the quickest easiest way ?

click that, paypal is the easiest and fastest method of paying as your name goes green quicker, you can then put a forsale thread up in the forsale section found here

It says about it on the title area to the forsale section

Trading Section

Actually joined as a member many years ago and used the site agree with what you say about membership.

Lost note of username password etc and as I have had many email addresses over the years don't know which email address I originally used - hence the need to join again.

Will try using PayPal and see how I get on

Thanks

Welcome to the club Venturi

Thanks

Unfortunately joining to put sell notification in - don't want to sell but circumstances dictate its the sensible thing to do - your red car looks just like mine did in its prime and your black one just like the one I had stolen - I was told by the CID it almost certainly ended up being shipped abroad - had Tracker on board but it made no difference

Sandy

Wish I had known that a few years ago as since I stopped getting the car serviced in Maldon Essex after Silva Engineering shut down, I've not been able to find anyone in Scotland capable of dealing with the car.

Too late now I am afraid as the funds I would need have to go elsewhere (like my youngest son ) so if it can give someone else pleasure I will be delighted - I have to admit though there is not a day goes past when I don't look at it and think ..well maybe...

Sandy have put my car on the Cars for Sale thread but your offer made me think can I do the work myself. What sort of help is available locally ie I stay just outside East Kilbride,is there anyone eg who could advise on the condition of the chassis area etc ?

few of us in hamilton, sandy in bellshill, im sure if you supplied the beers everybody would be happy to make a day of it and get the work done

Get it repaired and enjoy your car again, much better idea than selling it, especially if you've built it back up yourself "with a little help from your friends" :D

Welcome back Venturi.

What exactly do you think is wrong with it?

As Sandy and Rising Sun have already said, there are a few of us not too far from glasgow who would be willing to lend a hand if you wanted to think of fixing it?

Sandy owns "The Scottish Zed Graveyard" so anything that he doesnt have, doesnt belong on a Z32!

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::laugh::stupid:Yeah! Who wants a fiat sat on the drive when your z can still be there?!! Get it sorted

Hi mate, I'm in the southside of Glasgow and I use a very reliable garage that knows their way around 300zxs, they have worked on my z31 and my z32, they have also carried out hybrid turbo installs for 300zxs in the past. The owner is Kenny Brown, he also has a rally team and he is based in Hillington Industrial Estate.

this is what i like to see, club spirit.

Venturi i wouldn't worry about your age either, we have a few gentlemen of the older caliber on here with 300zx's, they seem to form a fascination with chrome though, have no idea why, must be an age related thing.

Seems chrome for the older types, carbon fiber for the young'uns and those in a midlife crisis want big wings and colour changes.

Hi Venturi, good to see you back on the site. As above Kenny knows what he is doing and if you can travel a bit further south Phil at Blackmore in Manchester is great with Z's. I use them both and are top blokes. As the rest of the guys have said there are lots of members nearby and will always help out where they can. Keep the Z!!
