My z`s battery has just lately started to let me down, well at least I am assuming it is the battery, a quick jump from another car starts it up, is there a way I can rule out a bad alternator or something that may be drainign the battery? Dont want to replace it if there is no need.

Thanks guys, Dan

I killed my battery by leaving the alarm on all the time - if it stood for more than a weak, the battery would be completely flat. It just got worse and worse.

Do you use the car regularly? If so, then the battery should be getting ample charge. Check the battery connections are clean and free of grime. My work car wouldn't start the other day because of this.. The battery was fine, just poor connections - but it was exactly the same as having a flat battery, just click, click, click when you turned the key..

As said above - try and get hold of a multi meter to check the voltage of the battery. Should be just over 12 volts when the engine is not running and there's nothing switched on then with the engine running it should show just over 14 volts. Things like alarms and big I.C.E systems can dramatically reduce the lifespan of a battery if the car is not used reguarly so that's another thing to check.
