This is what i'm thinking at the minute. I know you all think i'm mad and should keep it lol but hear me out :flowers:

I am pretty much made up in my mind that it's time for something different. Although i have just filled up with motion lotion and been for a really nice drive,

I am going to sort the hatch as per the other thread, and I will also get the front bumper re-done. Losing the jdm parking mast, colour coding it but with fog ducts in the anthracite colour to match the wheels.

I will have a major (60/120k) service done as I already have the parts so it's just labour cost.

This will mean the car is perfect handling/bodywork/service wise, be it for me to enjoy or to any prospective purchaser.

The interior is also mint, albeit tweed. But I was actually drawn to the car because of its interior. I really like it.

So in short, i'll get the bodywork A1(hatch and bumper are only me being ocd!), a full major service completed and either continue to enjoy with peace of mind or have a very special and rare Slicktop TT in Cherry Red Pearl for sale.

Daffy.

Daffy.

You are not my friend and you are not my fellow DJ!!!

Lol

Sorry to read this, I think you will regret it but I can only speak as someone who loved their Zed, sold it for the right reasons and bitterly regrets it...it'll sell in a heartbeat tho mate

That'd be telling Baz  There is something i'm seriously considering but not mentioning on here lol.

But if I do sell i'll more than likely put the money into savings. I really need to get back on the property ladder after getting royally screwed over a few years back. I don't need to sell it but just think it's time for a change.

I'm in a similar place dude... If it wasnt for the insurance Id just keep it and buy something else, problem is having just got on the property ladder i'm in the middle of trying to do it up, and I cant use the zed for it. I do have an astra van but its always full of work stuff and i cant take it to the tip as its a van.... stupid council!

I have a van too and same here with the council/tip thing. My insurance isn't too bad luckily. But insurance/tax/mot/15mpg/consumables on what is effectively a luxury is a lot of money when trying to save. Decisions, decisions!! Hope the house renovation is coming on.

Ah I need a car as well but was fancying a 540i touring, bit of poke and a huge load bay... but now ive had the wheels painting i pulled into the drive today after 1250 miles and a few days away in my astra and thought shit my car looks good!

you have been thinking of selling for some time now so maybe the car just isnt the right one for you.

If i was you i would save all the money and hassle and sell it on as is. I doubt the bits you would want to do would add any real value.

Shame. I think if I keep updating it I'll stay interested. I get bored easily. And the conversion is a large financial commitment.

I'm going to stick my neck out here.. You been lookin at Scooby's / Evo's Daffy? I'm guessing you weren't looking at Supras, because they're very much the same fish as the Zed anyway. Or have you gone off Jap cars altogether? You got a 4WD itch?

If you're thinking of getting back on the property ladder, then now's the time to do it. Stuff the flash car for a while and stop wasting money on rent! It makes a lot more sense..

He mentioned in the other thread about a folding roof... I'm a bit concerned its a 206cc or a megane convertible. Hence him not wanting to say

Jesus Baz,

I thought we were all friends on here!!

206cc or megane?? WTF? Give the man some credit - its quite unlikely he's gonna jump from a 300 brake RWD to a 150 brake shopping trolly with a heavy folding roof. Only a complete mental 'tard would do that.

Tell me its not true Daffy?

For god's sake man, buy a MX5 with a hard top. Way, way better than any french POS..

LOL. I had a Wrk Sti before I got the Zed Leo, was only thinking yesterday how much I miss it. Totally different animal to my Slicky, but prolly because it was manual,4wd, lighter and had about 70bhp more!! Didn't get attatched to it like I have the Slicktop though. I have sort of put my stamp on it and it's still unfinished business. And sound advice on forgetting about a flash(ish) car for the time being.

Baz, you were nearly right. I am hankering after the new Renault Wind. :tt2:

Have we met? Been looking at a supercharged mx5 with hard top :tt1: But don't think it's quite me.
