Now what? lol

Ive been looking all over the web for a write up, and every thing I've seen so far, involves the initial question followed by a load of people saying how hard it is to get around corners and what not.

Now all im doing is my roof bars, so wont need to worry about getting around dodgy angled bends.

Will be going down to the car in a min to template the back of the vinyl ready for cutting (yes i know to leave some over hang)

Now im not sure if i really need to do any stretching as its just the bars. also would a hair dryer do for heating? cant really get the car indoors plus get electric too it.

and there really isnt any step by step guides. ive seen some people mention a glue? now im not really keen on the idea of putting glue on my paint work.

And yes i already know about prepping and cleaning the area thoroughly

im not going around corners, i did say that in the first post? why is everyone commenting about going around corners

I want to know a step by step if possible? though if no one has one, it was cheap enough to just trial and error and ill get the walk through up.

you will be as there is a curve to the top parts your covering and when u Lap it over to cover the hole lot so theres no paint showing ...

there are videos on youtube ..

what type/brand of vinyl did you buy Ian?, as depending on whether it's "calendered" or "cast" vinyl will determine if it will bend, stretch with heat.

Just read your post again, don't cut to shape as you will need to stretch and heat it slighty then cut off any access, pm me if you want I do this for a living

i got 2 metres by 1 metre of this stuff. hell might not even be the correct stuff, but was cheap enough.

I would be a bit concerned with it peeling under the heat of the sun, which is why mine is getting sprayed black, although if it looks the part then might save alot of masking and hassle lol..

Look forward to seeing the pics Ian, so get your ass moving and get it done

i have the carbon stuff on my wing mirrors for nearly a year now and not unpealed it self yet .. plus its on parts in the car and thats the same

well, as its vinyl, if it starts peeling under the heat of the sun, id just remove it, and as it wasn't that expensive no real loss, but if it damages my paint, they will be getting a repair bill as it states on their bay add "this will not harm your paint work"
