Spot on recommendation by Marty (Gonzo12c) to go with Lynbrook on a classic car policy for the SWB TT.

I was expecting a quote of about £300 but they came back and offered me £194 fully comprehensive, needless to say we took it

which is a bargain if you ask me

I'm with them on a reccomendation from Marty too, cheapest I could get, but not that cheap ! I am wondering if its to do with recent car history (not having had a rwd sports car for many years), being as I am a low risk driver in a low risk area, hopefully it will go down next year !

How did you get a quote like that? were you holding a gun to their head?

Lynbrooks wouldn't give me classic insurance on my Zed, I think it was because I didn't have a garage. And the fact that my neighbourhood makes Beirut look safe and quiet :gun_bandana:

You keeping it in a garage or on a drive?

a few more details on the cars insured and what type of insurance you got....

I use my 91 Jap spec manual tt as a daily drive and run at about 18K per year.

do Lynbrooks only do classic insurance?

LYnbrooks do normal insurance too.

I doubt you'd get a classic policy over 10 thou miles. On my Sierra they went upto 10k and then said I was taking the piss driving my 'çlassic' car every day. Some companies will argue the toss of what year they consider a classic to be, especially (if like the Zed) the production run covered many years.

LOL... didn't want a classic policy... like you said, no chance with high miles.....

it's just that people always say how good (or bad) a deal they just got but omit to give important details like import and miles.... :)

lots of places won't even touch an import....

The shorty he bought off me is a 1995 but I also have my 92 slickie with them at a similar price. You need to have a main car to get it on classic insurance and I'm but sure if I said garaged or not. Either way great company to be with
