Turning 25 should have a big impact on your insurance price as most of us classic specialists won't accept you until you turn 25. I know we insure a good few people off here for less than £300 if that helps?

Provided the car isn't massively modified classic insurance generally saves a mint

If there's any way you can do it, take the car off the road until you turn 25, because they will rate you as a 24 year old for the entirety of the policy, right up to the day you turn 25, if it's at all possible for you to do it, it'll save you a fortune.

My insurance went up £200 when i was 25 last year. No accidents or claims in anyway and the only reason was all insurance has gone up in the last few years.

Tried a few places and it went even higher

It was a couple of years back now, but when I turned 25 and gained another years NCB my insurance quotes all went up around 10% TBH I was cheaper insuring cars at 21 with 0ncb than I am now at 27 with 4 years NCB (coming up)

I'm 22 and just got an insurance quote £700 cheaper than i'm currently paying and the ONLY difference is i've now been driving 5 years. Insurance companys are a joke most of the time, i swear the quotes are just random numbers picked from a hat haha

Of late the quotes are seemingly very Random, Rose wanted to switch her Import Z onto the policy we already had running on the UK Z, and I insured the UK Z separately, Kwik Fit told her it would be another £1700 for the remaining 3 months left on the policy, then after an hour on the phone, and the Kwik Fit lady going above and beyond, ringing the underwriter at Sabre, then the underwriter at Sabre actually going and researching the differences between UK and JDM Z's of the exact same age (The import is a G reg, the UK is an H Reg), he came back with a price of £11 for the remaining 3 months. Tombola anyone?

Best thing is to try a comparison website.

Enter your details exactly the same, but the second time make yourself a year older and see how it affects the price.

I've just got a quote of 1500 for the missus to drive a RX7, when it costs 1000 for a 1.2 Clio.

There is clearly a lot of science to insurance quotes that us average Joes just don't understand..

Or possibly they just make it up

It's funny how women have just been awarded more expensive insurance because of sexual discrimination (well they did want equality ), yet its perfectly acceptable to discriminate against someone because of their age. Go figure. The world is just full of bullshit.
