If you have an aftermarket steering wheel, check the earth wire is touching the inside of the horn push. Not alot to go wrong really, the horn is the switch, but does go via the fusebox under the bonnet 10a fuse before the horn itself.

The horns and wireing are quite suseptical to water damage where it is. The wire is only thin and goes brittle too.

The stock horns are terrible though. You can run new wires from the fusebox as Groover menioned, to a set of aftermarket horns instead.

There is a fusebox wiring diagram somewhere on here.

yeh, its the large one on passenger side.

i have twin air horns but mine are temperamental too so if there is a solution steve then let me know too bud ;)

ive found a pair of wires and a single one that goes directly to the horns. how can i check that there uis a feed to the hron and that its the horn tahts at fault the fuse was fine.

mine had a broken wire behind the horn push in the steering wheel - quick fix! :)

i have a set of after market horns in the garage doing nothing bud.

But, checked the connector to the horn, and also the fuse under the bonnet, also the relay (had 2 bads ones over 4 different zeds) aftermarket horns usually take the normal horn feed and then earth on the bodywork near where you mount the horn.

Most common place is the connection where the horn is though as its basically in the firing line from road spray from other road users.
