Is that to make your engine quieter and louder lol

The biggest problem i have at the moment matey is the in car PC, engines arrived, gearbox is in the garage, so thats sorted out, just need to fit them.

But the car-puter is a pain in the ass, ooh dont get me wrong, its fantastic for running diagnostics, but considering i have to get out of the car, open the boot, switch it all on, get back in the car (after starting it, other wise i have to do it all again, if ive started the PC before the engine) then, try and change a track if you haven't pre-designated a play list, on a tiny 7inch touch screen, is a nightmare, there is no way you can practically use it while driving. you couldn't even turn the volume up or down while driving, as the screen is just too small, and fingers too big, so needed a handy solution to use. the button is fully programmable, and allows me the basic use of the volume with out having to concentrate on where im putting my finger on a screen.

I need to do some major rewiring, i need to be able to switch my amps on, and computer from the comfort of the drivers seat. and also figure away of incorporating a bigger touch screen into the car some how, thats accessible from the drivers seat also.

You would normally have a remote lead to the amp from the head unit, not sure how it would work with the car pc.

Well, from all the electrical's I've had to rewire mate, there is no remote lead lol.

Behind my screen i have a very short, but cut OEM stereo lead. so if i ever wanted to fit a normal stereo, id have to rewire it. same with my wing mirror switch, that was just cut, so needed to rewire a new lead in, and for some strange reason, when i went to install the power wires for the passenger seat, the drivers side seat electrics were taking a live feed off the cigarette lighter socket 12v feed?

I have no idea what people think with the electrics of these cars, every zed ive owned, has either had to have redundant (extra) wire removed that someone bodged in, or the original wires replaced due to being cut for no apparent reason

Just a thought, but, what if you were to use a USB lead from the carputer, which will give out 5v and 12v when the carputer is turned on, you could then use the 12v feed as your remote, will come on with the carputer and go off with it too, just a thought mate...

problem is, its not a dedicated carputer, its a dell plugged into a inverter, so i need to switch the inverter off or run the risk of the battery dieing on me.

I need to put 2 switches in for it, one in line with the power lead to the inverter so i can switch it on and off from the cabin, and then extend the power button from the dell into the cabin as well, so i can get it turned on.

Im still debating to just remove the carputer all together and rewire the ISO socket for a normal stereo, and just stick a laptop in it.

Would tidy up the boot no end, plus i can get around to getting a proper boot build done for my amps, which by the way haven't been properly installed either, the speaker wire and conzults cable seem to be the only thing thats been wired in correctly, i think id be better off ripping it all out and starting afresh with it.

I see mate, oh well, was just a thought! I know what you mean, I've never seen so much butchering in my life as I found on mine, not only wiring, but everything really, it's like someone's given a monkey a pair of wire cutters, a hacksaw and a roll of insulation tape and let it go on a mission inside the car...

Yeah mine was like that, the most worrying part was the state of my ignition :hang:

Rose found lots of excess wire that she's now cut away, wasn't as bad though, plus she was changing the gearbox anyway (Well Mikey was) so had all the centre console out already and while Mikey was removing the old and putting in the new gearboxes, she tidied up all the wiring.

My red zed was just as bad, i had 3 unknown switches inside my cabin, that after chasing the cabling all over the inside of the dash ended up being connected to nothing?

after ripping it all out, im sure i could of rewired a 747 with it

extra cables taht go no where are one thing a zed really doesnt need theres plently enough mandatory cable to go around. ugh eletrics i hate them!
