screenwasher bottle

Featured Replies

yep as the uk model has headlamp wash controlled from the same bottle too but the import doesnt have headlamp wash.

Don't know if they are but the UK has the headmlamp washer and the jdm doesn't. Think it's the pump that's different though not the bottle.

lol. i look like a lobster. was 36degrees all day at supercar sunday. im well burnt:)

I could have cooked an egg on my bald spot today

My washers have packed up on my import 300 zx softtop, can anyone tell me how to find out which, and where is the fuse for the washer. How do I locate the washer if it proves not to be the fuse. Thanks guys - my car does not do many miles so have not had many problems to sort out - I suppose I should get an english manual for this model, do Haynes do one for this motor

The washer bottle is behind the bumper - intercooler on the drivers side.

Haynes don't do a manual for our zeds but the Service Manual is available on the site http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

Not sure from memory where the fuse is, but it's either the fuse box in the engine bay or the one in the drivers footwell, the washer bottle is somewhat of a **** to get at, you need to remove at the very least the drivers side arch linings, better yet, take that wing off, it's behind the wing. If it's just the pumps you need, I have either 2 or 3 sat in my garage thanks to double ordering last month when mine was broke, lol.

Thanks guys for the info, I will tackle from the wheel arch tomorrow, and give hollowpoint a nod if it needs a new pump. Got some further info from the manual link - looks like the fuse serves both wipers and washer - wipers ok so I guess not the fuse, 20 Amp which I have found in the drivers footwell.

Think the fuse for the washers might be different to the one for the wipers? But don't quote me on that one.

While you are in the wheel arch, might be worth removing the rear part of the inner liners, you will find a brown relay in a plastic sheath.

This was the problem with mine, it had corroded and had to be re wired.:hammer:

Wish I had found it before I stripped the front end only to find the pumps etc' were OK!:taz:

Thanks Folks, fuse seemed to be washer/wipers in one, when I searched the online wiring diagram, so

got in to the washer bottle ok, removed whole unit, stripped pump, and it was coated inside with crystalized washer chemical that had found its way past the seals (over time), then dried with lack of use. cleaned up the com & brushes, bit of wd as cleaner, switched on, ran like a new one. So no cost - just the type of repair I like. Z now mot'd for another year. Will bear the other suggestions in mind for next time - Cheers.
