Has anyone had any negative effects from doing this.

I have removed my PRVR & AIV systems & am thinking of removing the CC as I need to remove the front bumper for painting & to install my ARC intercoolers from Nend.

The CC probably gives me the most concerns out of all deletes for vapour loss reasons.

Any comments appreciated :detective:

Thanks groover - I have seen that link & used Robos site for other removal docs.

Just wanted some real world input from anyone on here that has done it :)

not to hijack the thread but is there a way to do this yet on a 96+ zed without it throwing up the ecu error codes as it mentions on robos sites and a few other places?

I've had a few Z's now that have been spot on after removing the carbon canister. Just done it to the new Z too. Get rid of it paul... and sack off the overflow tank and huge washer bottle whilst you are there and get some proper flow out the back of them 'coolers. The ARC ones you bought are fantastic and the same as mine, and were an absolute bargain :thumbup1:

i removed mine the other week along with the AIV and PRVR and i have had no problems with mine. The zed actually seems to go better!

Totally agree with Baz on this.....

I have removed the CC, rad expansion tank and washer bottle (relocated a smaller bottle under the nose panel). Also i cut away the fwd inner arch liner to allow the air to completely flow from the rear of my godspeed smic's.

How does removing the carbon cannister help then?

How does removing the carbon cannister help then?

a minor bit of weight loss and it allows much better air flow through the pass side IC.

the benefits are twofold - first like many systems on these cars there are lots of vacuum lines that are removed that can prevent possible air leaks.

Second & the main reason is that it is located right behind the passenger intercooler & removal allows much more airflow for cooling.

Potentially there is the possibility of fumes from venting gasses from the fuel tank - good to know there are no reported issues from people that have actually done this :)

ahh, i have my Dreaded MOT next week!, maybe should leave it until after as i dont anything affecting the ommisions!, is there any other ways of ensuring my car passes the ommisions test slightly worried about it

this wouldnt affect exhaust emissions bud.

Most zeds only need to pass a non cat test - make sure yours is tested correctly! Details here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=27060

If that's your G reg in your signature, you should pass emissions no problem at all. Mine's an H reg, with no cats, 3" exhaust with only the one back box per side the rest of the way down it, Meines ECU, Twin Induction kit and quite clearly (From the smell when you stand behind it) over-fueling, yet it sailed through the emissions without the tester even blinking. Wasn't even close to the limit!

yes mine does smell like it overfuels!, thats what made me worry thanks for calming my nervs ive been looking through the forum and seen info about pre 92 dont do cat test types or sumet!, i hope it goes all well anyway! is there any issues with noise levels aswell?

Not unless its ridiculously loud lol, most aftermarket zorsts on the zeds seem to pass with no issues with noise.
