Proper Rules of the Sales

Where are the proper rules of sale? Never heard of them before?

As anoying as it is for the buyer, as the seller and owner of the items he can do with his items exactly as he sees fit though?

It says they're just tips and guidelines, this is the only site I know of where most people (including me) adhere to a 'dibs' system as opposed to a 'cash in hand first' system! lol

Well it was me that pm'd him, and I wasn't deliberately breaking any rules!

I was supposed to be going to see him on Saturday, to pick up another part I'd already agreed to purchase, I saw he said he was back Monday on that thread, so pm'd him to check the day, he had forgotten and his circumstances had changed, so we re-arranged for Monday and I'd also mentioned an interest in those parts in my PM.

I suppose I should have marked the thread with a "pm'd" but I didn't, sorry. I definitely did pm him quite a while before you posted, but as he explained in the thread, he's in London this week and doesn't have regular daytime access to the internet, for him to have updated his thread before you posted.

First I would think this is just something to mark up to "Oh well I missed that part then" as I and the rest of us have had to do many times, but secondly, I'd have thought if you really have a complaint about this, the committee would be the way to go. At the very least, the members only forums, rather than in the public forums and naming the seller as well, that's what's "Not On" in my book.

As above, missed lots of parts due to a 'someone PM'd me first' affair, as Hollowpoint says above, it's merely an 'oh well' event.

Things move fast on this forum! another will come up

Just to verify, I checked a few things, your post was 9:05 my pm was 08:25, he wouldn't have seen my pm as no net access, so if you txt him and called him, he would have not known. I think even though you've posted this same thread 4 or 5 times around the forum, he was actually trying to follow the rules, when he realised my pm came before your txt, he wasn't at all being underhanded and it probably took a lot, for him to ring you and say sorry someone pm'd me first, rather than tell me you'd rung him and he'd made the deal.

I'm happy for the mods/committee to clear this up, if I should have posted pm'd in the main thread, I'll bow out and you can buy the strut brace, but I certainly don't think he was being underhanded, nor do I think he deserves the forum spamming with this thread in various sections, including a direct copy / paste inside his for sale thread.

including a direct copy / paste inside his for sale thread.

Now that DOES break the rules of the club lol

Oh the irony :wheelchair:

Why have posted this all over different forums that's just like a kid being told be can't go out and play. People don't even have to say dibs to have first refusal of parts just declare an interest as I have found out in my experience. It is frustrating but get its up to the seller and everyone seems to like to have an opinion anyway.

Yeah, posting this once was enough.

Hearing what hollowpoint says, you were 2nd in line so "oh well".

Another will turn up.

i stand by what i said ...

post's was done at the same time i dont keep posting it

and plan not to

Hi Mark, like many of us here, we feel your frustration and in an ideal world first dibs would suffice. Having said that, it is up to the seller on the terms he states in a for sale thread upon how he wants to operate that sale, if someone PM'd the seller before your dibs is seen and made an arrangement for that item, then he is likely to be bound by the arrangement made through PM over the first dib.

It can be frustrating and it probably feels unfair, but unfortunately thats the way it goes sometimes. A seller must really make clear how he wishes the sale of items to proceed to prevent confusion or ill feeling.

Cheers

Graham
