OK guys,

Got the car back and its almost perfect...

They have cleaned the connectors as best as they could. I need a new connector really. The one for the idle. Its a white plug. So any ideas where to obtain.

I did call MJP but he said they are hard to get hold of, he people are obtaining american looms and using the connectors that ways and modifying.

Any help appreciated

Dave

Some people do buy American LHD looms and fit them yeah, but that requires the engine out or some serious fiddlyness! I'd ask one of the breaker threads on here if they'll cut it off for you, then just solder it to your existing loom for now, unless you're planning to take the engine out anyway? I'm seriously considering an LHD loom when my engine comes out over winter.

Right spoke to Z world and very helpful. They said just use spade connectors - obviously connecting correctly to the right pins.

So called garage they said they will solder new spades on at 5pm today. They wanted to do that.. but said did not want to in case I took it to another garage - could get confusing but they will colour code it.

Hopefully that means on to a winner

Incorrect. You do not need to take out the engine to fit a LHD loom! They are the same as RHD just a little longer. All you do is coil it up a little behind the footwell.

Yeah that wasn't my point mate, lol.

As I said, take the engine out or some serious fiddlyness. There are connectors which are very hard to get to with the engine in, I wasn't saying it just because it's LHD, I was saying it because it's a pig of a job unless you do, regardless of if the loom is LHD or RHD.

yeh, spade connectors are ok, although if you want it done properly that style of connector is used on most Nissans and should'nt be that hard to source aftermarket. Seem to recall that the White idle connector is a bosch style injector connector.

No its not nessesary or of any benefit to have engine removed for EFI loom replacement. It does not make it any easier for any connectors.

It does gives you a little more clearance for getting it though the bulkhead to the ECU - but not a big deal since the the harderst part there is to do with stripping away the glovebox area and heater blower inside the car anyway.

Good to know, I had seen several connectors below the plenum line, which I then start to class as hard to get to with the engine in, plus as you say, getting it through the bulkhead. I still won't be attempting mine until my engine comes out though, lol

If you can get to the connectors you can clean them by immersing them in a jar full of alloy wheel cleaner.

Great News. Allow wheel cleaner, would not of thought of that. Do you leave it in over night?

I try that, but I will settle for the spade connectors for now.

is there a white connector? never noticed i know injector connectors and yellow connectors are from mr f, the blue connectors can be bought from conzept z, they do get them made up theirselves and are currently waiting for a batch
