hi all
i was reading a very interesting article in classic car mag at work it is the jun 2011 edition.the topic was about E10 fuel wich is at your local pumps already but is about to change and instead of having 5% ethanol in it it will be being increased to 10%.
the main problem with the addition of ethanol is the water absorbtion wich causes higher combustion gas temperatures leaves water residue in the bores causing washing of the bores and premature wear as well as having the affecct of weakoning the mixture.that is just with 5% what the effects will be with10% no one knows yet.we are having lots of problems at work at present with fuel growing bacteria in the tanks and abviously blocking injectors pumps and filters,as a company we are trialing a fuel set additive wich seams to be having a great affect better fuel economy etc.
does anyone in the no have any thoughts or findings as to how this fuel is affecting our 300zx,s either in turbo or n/a and whether there is an additive wich is of benefit to us as there is nothing we will be able to do about the addition of ethanol to our fuel
sorry about punctuation english never was my strong point but hopefully i have been able to get my point accross and have hopefully been able to open a few eyes
