At start up it idles lumpy, almost cuts out then you hear fuel pump buzz and revs pick up again for a few seconds, any touch of gas makes the engine die. After starting about 20 times it suddenly fires up perfect and revs cleanly, and drives with no problem. This happens when hot or cold.

Did ecu check- code 55

tried different coolant sensor and PTU.

checked resistance of TPS

Cleaned the connections

Still No F*****g good mad.gif

Could be a faulty fuel pump.

Duff fuel pressure regulator letting the pressure off the injector rail and the fuel all going back to the tank hence the noise of the pump picking up - and increased fuel demand killing the engine.

Defo sounds fuel system issue not sensors or ecu. imho

Paul mate,

I feel your pain,

Could be the IAA, Fuel Pump Control, FPR or even PCV's

I would discontect ECU control from the IAA and see if that cures it - If it does check that assembly otherwise check the Pump readings and the FPR !

Please please buy it - im gettin desperate now god damit !!!

It is the FPC without any doubt, exactly the same symptons as mine, if you want to check strip out the rear trim to get to the FPC box and stick a meter on it.

You will be able to see the voltage bounce up and down.

Paul,

Glad to be of help.

Don't bin the old unit, if you don't want it send it to me. My unit went tits up due to a power transistor frying itself.

It would be interesting to see if a) it was the same component failure and b) we can make one good unit from two f'ked ones.
