Am i being over the top here guys,my ten year old daughter and six year old son were amazed today to see the contents of their lunchbox photographed and displayed to the class. It turns out its healthy eating week and without parental consent the "healthy eating" lady has gone into my kids lunchboxes and opened the sandwiches to reveal the contents so she could take photographs. They were used as good examples but its not the point imho.myself or my missus never said the school could do that.what gives them the rights. It really pisses me off the cheeky coonts, how dare they!! My kids constantly come home telling me lunchboxes are monitored for dangerous substances like chocalate or cake, these are seen as unhealthy ffs and kids are told not to eat them, not that eating them in moderation is fine.feckin nanny state in Bristol :cursing:

Yeah the problem I'm seeing here is not that you're being over the top, that you could be misunderstood. My kids don't even have school plays anymore because of parents that complain their kids could end up in someone elses photos, which is just F***ING ridiculous. I miss the days when none of this *****cks happened.

We used to do the coke test with a tooth in it for a couple of weeks and we were taught about eating cake and chocolate and stuff not being good for you, not that it was bad for you, that it wasn't good for you, as opposed to the stuff that is good for you, which you should try to eat more of, completely different tac. Plus I was in numerous school plays and sports days and stuff and I'm relatively normal I think.

Just thought I should add here, no, you're not being out of order, because of the subject, it's just the fact that photos were taken etc. reminded me of all the other PC *****cks. They shouldn't be using actual childrens lunches, because if they pick the kid with loads of cake and chocolate in his lunch box to show as a bad one, then he's gunna have the piss taken out of him, I ****ing hate schools now days.

Sound well out of order, your kids you can feed them what you want. I be they are both healthy.

Yeh the can we take a photo shit does my head in too cus there is a peado everywhere these days :headvswal.Ive told my kids whats ok and whats not.Moderation and exercise is the key,not staring at a tv or X box game helps also Lol.Diet is important but so is your lifestyle.

I haven't got kids mate but if that was me I would be going to the school and asking them what the hell they are playing at. I blame that bloody Oliver boy the :xxx:

and you shouldent be allowed to have kids. you is ugly:rofl:

Now that's just rude. I can't have kids due to a mankini accident. Got the back caught on a nail and when it came of it fired me nads up me arris, never to be seen again.

Its a shame but its a fact that today there are so many thick as shit parents out there that knock kids out for the easy life and feed them shit, that its better to educate the kids than the parent who will never change.

Opening your kids lunch though is wrong end of and I would ask for an opology or walk in the staff room and start playnig with their food and see how they like eating it afterwards.

Wow !

Thats just wrong ? Not the healthy eating bit, but the fact they can touch your kids stuff, without asking/photographing ??

I thought all hands on stuff had to be sanctioned by the parents/PTA ?

I would be paying a visit ?

Or making a noise at least ?

Common sense prevails here.

Alan.........................

Oh and I hope she washed her hands before touching your kids sandwiches.....

What if she'd been picking her nose or scratching her....... and then lifting the bread ?

I would complain to the school, but there's always the possibility then that they would then be outcast and picked on...

Total abuse of Power and Authority

Its the same here in sunny shropshire. If there is any chocolate, crisps or fizzy drinks the teachers confiscate them off the children. Its not the first time ive been up the school having a go about it bloody ridiculus.

I agree. They shouldnt be able to touch ANY of your kids stuff! Be different if you did it, there would be hell to pay if you did it!

My daughter is only allowed to take water to school for a drink. The other day when it was scorching hot (not many days like that I know :)) they were not allowed a drink in the class too because its outside of break times! Bloody ridiculous if you ask me.

Agree with Tony B lol......a few of my women teachers had beards too!

I REALLY hate schools these days, overprotective nanny institutions when they're young and basically prison camps/terrorist training camps when they get to high school, it's ridiculous. I have a kid in Little School and a kid in Secondary, one only just started going, the other only has a year left, neither of them likes school that much, both of them give me horror stories about what happens in the school and I can't stand ANY of their teachers! I'm SERIOUSLY tempted to move them both to Catholic school, and I'm an athiest!

Wow a lot has changed since i went school and that was only about 9 years ago. We were never ever told what we could eat and what we cant. I eat whatever i liked, crying out loud its the only time in your life you can!! Parents should promote kids to eat healthy, but taking pictures and showing it off!! Sounds crazy!

The schools are messed up these days!!

the whole country is mad! kids should be taught about moderation, not 'if you eat some cake you will die of cancer'!! and the fact that you cant take photos of your own kids in shows etc because you would have photos of other children is completely absurd!!! pedos have allways been around, and unfortunately allways will be, regardless of wether or not children get photographed in nativity plays etc!! the punishment for fiddling kiddies should be MUCH more severe! and im not refering to the likes of a 16 yr old lad sleeping with his 15 yr old girlfriend, although this is against the law its a long way from a 20 year old nursery worker violating a baby(s)! they should be publicly hung with no remorse! there is no excuse for what they do!!!

Really!!!! you have nothing better to moan about.

They did not embarrass them or bully them in any way.

Yeah schools do need to have an input they care for the children

for the better part of the day. If they fell and hurt themselves I am sure

we would have the same cry of "they just dont fookin care"

As for it being a nanny state just because they are trying to educate the kids in to what is healthy to eat (and education IS what we are paying them for)

I suggest the Nanny state begins at home where parents refuse to let there children experience any of te real issues in life so grow up to be Naive targets for society to pray on.

Oh and they should think themselves lucky that is was the teacher that opened up there luch box, in my day it would have been school bully Slinger O Keefe and he would have taken my curly wurly spat in my sandwiches and given me a dead leg that would have lasted three days for the pleasure, IF I WAS LUCKY. :tt2:

I saw a bloke getting ejected from a local swimming pool the other day. He was protesting his innocence, but I couldn't hear what was going on. When I went outside, the same bloke was there, and I asked him what had happened, he said........"A S had fallen off his swimming trunks!!!!"..........lol

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Half the teachers in my daughters school are younger than me!! None of them look like they are old enough to shave, let alone teach!

Are you talking about the female staff here?

I have to sit on the fence with this one. I can see the schools point - some kids are sent to school on a diet of pure shite. I see it a lot round my area, people feed their kids on stuff from the freezer (normally heated in a deep fat fryer) or snacks like crisps and sweets. I think its got a lot to do with the parents, but unfortunately its a proven fact that kids from poorer backgrounds have a less nutritional diet. The schools are trying to make children (and parents) think about what they eat. It was the same when I was at school, but obesity wasn't such a problem then. Computers were less mainstream and kids played more outside, I think. Nowadays, I see way too many little fat kids, who in turn are going to spawn their own little fat kids and at the end of the day its MY tax that's gonna pay for this almighty **** up. The schools cannot treat one group of kids differently to another, so are forced to treat everyone the same rather than targeting the problem kids. If it was me, I'd probably be a bit pissed off too - but on the other hand, action does need to be taken. I don't know what the levels of obesity are at your kids school, but I know I've noticed how many little chubby red-faced kids there are these days.

The way I look at it - if it saves me money in the long run and (less importantly) means we have a healthier nation, then it must be a good thing. Assuming it works, that is.

I should also state that I spent 12 months installing exercise equipment in school playgrounds and saw first hand the level of obesity in hundreds of schools all over the country.

All this above does not alter the fact that Jimmers children had their lunchboxes opened, the sandwiches oped up and photographed. That is an invasion of their rights.

As I said above, if a teacher starts handling the child's food, have they washed their hands ? Are they wearing sterile gloves that haven't toughed any other food ?

Lay money it's a big NO. So, if the children then got ill, from food, who would be to blame ? Big Money bet the school would say NOT US !

These do gooders do nothing but make me sick !

These do gooders do nothing but make me sick !

I find myself saying that more and more every day. Don't even get me started on smoking, drinking, blah blah blah.
